What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 606

His gaze somber, Finnian shot a cold glance at the study door but refused to step inside.

Instead, he turned and walked straight out of the apartment. He instructed Martha to go to the hospital, inform Noelle of what had transpired, and deliver a final warning: if she ever dared to engage in such malicious behavior again, he would destroy her.

Martha nodded obediently.

Inside the VIP ward of the hospital.

Noelle slowly opened her eyes. By now, night had fallen.

The dim gray light filtering through the blinds painted shadows across the floor, looking entirely like the bars of a prison cell.

Pearl was asleep, slumped over the edge of the bed with tear tracks staining her cheeks.

"Mom," Noelle called out weakly.

Pearl jolted awake, immediately grabbing her daughter's fingers. "Noelle, you're finally awake."

"The baby is gone, isn't it?" Noelle had already touched her stomach. Though it was still slightly swollen, the pronounced curve was gone. It felt hollow.

"Noelle, the doctor said the baby had no heartbeat when you were brought in. It might have been deprived of oxygen in the womb... If you're hurting, just cry. Let it out." Pearl's heart ached for her.

But Noelle didn't shed a single tear. In fact, she felt calmer now than she had in months.

The child she had intentionally conceived, carried for months, and planned to use as her ultimate bargaining chip to emotionally blackmail the Sanders family was gone. It simply meant her master plan had failed.
