What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 629

Noelle had laid bare her most shameful secrets, expecting Kaia to finally understand her. Instead, Kaia's voice turned icy. "You say you know you were wrong, but the things you did destroyed so many people. A simple 'I'm sorry' doesn't erase any of it. Seraphina's trauma, Jasper's prison sentence, Rafael's life, and the years of torment I endured because of your scheming—none of that vanishes just because you realized you messed up. I will never forgive you, but I won't waste my time getting revenge, either. You're on your own."

"Kaia..." Noelle cried out desperately.

But the call was already disconnected.

Kaia pushed her car door open and walked toward the entrance of the Cultural Arts Center. Simon was waiting for her by the door, but he wasn't alone. A beautiful, elegant woman was standing next to him, deep in conversation.

Kaia paused. She recognized the woman. Thanks to her father's connections, she had met her a few times before. It was Yvonne Yeoh, the only daughter of a high-ranking official at The Department of Education.

Kaia slowed her pace, watching them from the crowd.

Yvonne was looking at Simon with stars in her eyes, while Simon casually scanned the crowd, clearly distracted.

Kaia strode forward.

When Simon spotted her, his face lit up, and his long legs closed the distance in a few quick strides.

"You made it," Simon said softly, his eyes brimming with a warm smile.

Seeing Kaia approach, Yvonne looked startled but quickly walked over. "Oh, it's you. Is this who you've been waiting for, Simon?"

Kaia smiled politely. "It's been a while, Ms. Yeoh."

Yvonne forced a slightly bitter smile. "Yes, it's been about two or three years. Dr. Chavez, your reputation is getting more impressive by the day. Professor Chavez must be incredibly proud of you."

Kaia offered a polite smile but didn't reply.
