What She Overheard in Her Own Marriage novel Chapter 632

"Silas..." Kaia was completely stunned. She hadn't expected him to cry.

Seraphina walked back in after her phone call just as Silas suddenly buried his face in his arms on the table. Seeing a grown man in a sleek black coat acting like an upset child thoroughly shocked his sister.

She looked at Kaia, bewildered, then at Silas, who was slumped motionless against the wood. "What's wrong with him?"

Kaia felt entirely out of her depth. "I don't know. He seems... upset."

Seraphina blinked, letting out an amused laugh. "Why would he be upset out of nowhere? Did I say something wrong?"

"Not you. Me." Kaia had never dealt with anything like this before. Flustered, she reached out and gently nudged Silas's arm. "Silas, please don't be like this. If you have something to say, let's talk about it."

Silas slowly lifted his head, took a deep breath, and turned his face away, refusing to look at her.

Seraphina stared in utter disbelief before rushing to ask, "Silas, what's going on?"

Silas pressed his lips into a hard line. His chest felt incredibly tight, a suffocating wave of despair making it hard to breathe. He had believed Kaia when she said she was prioritizing her career over romance. He had believed her when she said her divorce had left her needing time to heal and clear her head.

But what had she done?

She turned right around and fell into Simon's arms. She had announced they were a couple without even a word of warning.
