What We Had Was Never Real novel Chapter 19

Rosalie had well and truly gone mad. She was initially supposed to be in the asylum, and now that she had harmed Stephen, there was no way Marissa would let her off the hook.

Eventually, after Andrew's relentless begging, Marissa decided to have Rosalie locked up in the attic at Fost Manor. She even assigned a guard to watch over Rosalie to ensure the crazed woman couldn't escape and stir up trouble again.

As for Stephen, since he was in an unstable condition, Marissa spent most of her time in the hospital looking after him. Hence, she didn't pay much attention to Rosalie's situation.

The housekeepers at Fost Manor didn't like Rosalie, so they were rather negligent in their care of her. They would deliver her two meals a day, but they didn't care whether she ate them or not.

It wasn't until days later that a housekeeper realized the meals had been untouched for three days.

She hastily opened the door and entered, only to see that Rosalie had hung herself from the rafters. She no longer showed any signs of life.

Shocked, the housekeepers quickly informed Marissa.

Marissa's only response upon receiving this news was to grit her teeth and spit, "Hurry up and cremate her, then bury her anywhere. I don't care!"

Even at that moment, she was still deeply regretful of her decisions. Back then, she had personally chosen Rosalie and delivered her to Stephen's bed. Yet, Rosalie had ultimately nearly killed him. Just the thought of this enraged Marissa.

Rosalie wasn't even given a proper funeral. The day she was buried, only Andrew snuck over to see her one last time.

At the end of the day, blood was thicker than water. No matter how scared he had been of Rosalie, he still couldn't bear seeing her depart this world alone.

His small figure was curled up before her sloppily constructed gravestone. After murmuring one last prayer, he left without looking back.

Over at Ethor, Natania had taken over Wendell Group's branch company.

Sophia had finally had enough fun with William and returned to the castle, bringing news of the Fost family.
