Dreston sat on his home office seat, behind the office desk. Everywhere was silent except for the faint hum of the air conditioner.
Nora and Jessica stood opposite his desk. Neither of them dared to sit because this time, Dreston isn’t smiling with them.
Dreston remained behind the desk, his fingers resting lightly on its polished surface. His posture was relaxed, but the tension in the room was high.
He had asked for both of them.
And when Dreston Tremont asked to see you privately, it was never casual. His gaze settled on Nora, the prime suspect.
“I’ll ask once,” he said evenly. “And I expect honesty.”
Jessica shifted slightly, sensing the storm.
“The clip that was played at the expo,” Dreston continued. “The footage taken from the mansion. Did you
send it to Tina?”
Silence returned.
Nora’s fingers curled into her palm.
Jessica’s eyes widened slightly. She turned to her sister in shock.
“Nora?” she whispered under her breath.
Dreston didn’t blink.
“I already confronted Jessica,” he said calmly. “She denied it.”
Jessica straightened slightly. “I didn’t even know that video existed,” she added quickly.
“And I believe her,” Dreston said.
His eyes returned to Nora.
“I believed her because she doesn’t lie.”
The words were pointed. And Nora swallowed.
She tried to maintain eye contact, but her gaze faltered. And that was all Dreston needed.
His jaw tightened.
“I knew it was you the minute Jessica denied it,” he said quietly. “Why?”
Still, Nora said nothing.

“Why did you do it?” His voice sharpened. “Why did you let yourself be used by Tina?”
Nora’s eyes glistened.
“It wasn’t like that,” she said finally, her voice small.
“Then what was it like?” Dreston demanded.
She looked down. “I… I thought she deserved to be exposed. Everyone was acting like she was perfect.
Like she was untouchable.”
“And that gave you the right to invade my home’s security system?” His tone was no longer calm. “To leak private footage?”
Jessica stared at her twin in disbelief.
“Nora, what were you thinking?”
Nora’s lips trembled, but she remained silent.
Dreston straightened.
“You will be punished,” he said coldly.
Nora looked up, startled.
“I’m reducing your monthly allowance.”
Jessica inhaled sharply.
“That’s not fair-”
Dreston shot her a look. And It was enough.
Jessica immediately closed her mouth.
“You will learn that actions have consequences,” he continued. “And you will learn not to play games that can destroy someone’s life.”
Nora wiped at her eyes quickly.
“I didn’t think it would go that far.”
“That’s the problem,” Dreston replied. “You didn’t think.” Then he paused.
“Now, I have something else to tell you. Both of you.”
They both straightened instinctively.
“Cassienne’s mother is coming to stay for one month.”
The twins exchanged a look, clearly surprised.

“She will be living here,” Dreston continued. “Which means Cassienne is moving back in tonight.”
Jessica’s brows lifted slightly. But Nora’s expression darkened.
Dreston’s voice dropped an octave. “Under no circumstances should that woman hear about our divorce.”
Now the air felt heavy.
“If she finds out,” he said slowly, and deliberately, “I will hold both of you responsible.”
Jessica swallowed.
“We wouldn’t-”
“I mean it,” he cut in.
There was no room for argument in his tone.
“If anything leaks. If any careless comment is made. If anyone so much as hints at the truth…” His eyes hardened. “I won’t be this lenient.”
Now the message was clear. They bott nodded.
“Good,” Dreston said. “You’re dismissed.”
The twins left in silence. The door closed behind them.
Dreston finally exhaled slowly. His hand pressed on his forehead, and his eyes remained fixed at the
door as if his two mischievous cousins were still there. 1
Later that evening. In a private restaurant overlooking the river.
Soft jazz played in the background. Crystal glasses clinked gently against porcelain plates. The lighting
was low, and intimate.
Tina sat across from Dreston, dressed elegantly in a wine–colored gown that hugged her figure perfectly. She was glowing tonight.
It had been a long time since he had taken her out like this. For weeks, he had been distant. Preoccupied,
and distracted.
But tonight, he had invited her himself.
Her heart fluttered. Maybe this was it. Maybe he had finally made up his mind. Or maybe he had finally decided to propose. Tina’s mind is filled with ‘hopes‘ and ‘maybes‘.
Perhaps his parents had finally accepted reality. Perhaps Cassienne’s sudden fame had only reminded him that he needed stability. Her mind ran ahead of itself.

She smiled softly as she watched him cut his steak neatly, with precise movements and controlled
demeanor.
After dinner, he wiped his mouth with the napkin carefully and set it aside.
He took a sip of water. Then he looked at her.
“For the next month,” he said calmly, “I need you to keep your distance from me.”
The smile on Tina’s face disappeared immediately.
“What?”
“For one month,” he repeated. “We shouldn’t be seen together.”
Her chest tightened.
“Why?”
“Cassienne’s mother is coming to stay,” he said plainly. “She doesn’t know about the divorce. Cassienne will be moving back in.”
Tina’s fingers tightened around her glass.
“She’s moving back in?” she whispered.
“It’s temporary,” he said firmly. “For medical reasons.”
“And you expect me to just… disappear?”
“I expect you to understand. And do nothing. Hee mother must not know about the divorce.” $19
Tina’s eyes began to glisten.
“Why would I reveal reveal it?” she asked quickly. “Why would I hurt you like that?”
Dreston leaned back slightly.
“Because you already have.”
Her breath hitched. But he held her gaze.
“I know about the club.”
Her face was drained of color.
“I know you were behind the attack.”
Tears welled in her eyes.
“And the footage,” he added. “I know you were involved.”
“I didn’t-”
