The atmosphere in Cassienne’s office shifted the moment Tina stepped inside without knocking. It was a deliberate move, and Cassienne knew it.

“I am sorry,” Tina said quickly when she saw Dreston standing close to Cassienne. “Maybe I should come back.”

She turned to leave, but Cassienne’s voice stopped her cold.

“I think you should learn to knock, Tina.”

Tina froze at the entrance. She remained still for a second before she slowly turned around.

Cassienne stepped away from her desk, leaving Dreston’s side. Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she walked toward the door, closing the distance between them with quiet confidence. When she stopped, she stood just a few feet away from Tina, her posture straight, her presence controlled.

“I told you before,” Cassienne continued, her tone measured, “don’t come into my office without my permission. You don’t walk in here without knocking and expect me to believe it was an accident.”

Tina’s mouth hung open, but she could not find the words to defend herself. Instead, her eyes moved to Dreston, silently begging him to say something.

Cassienne folded her arms and straightened her shoulders. “What can I do for you?”

“First of all, I am sorry for walking in here without knocking,” Tina said. “I did not know.”

Cassienne rolled her eyes.

“I have come to discuss work with you,” Tina continued. “But I will come back when you are not busy.”

Cassienne looked at her for a moment and then gave a slight nod. “Fine. Let us discuss it later.”

Cassienne turned back immediately and returned to her desk where Dreston stood. He was looking at Tina. And Tina was still looking at him. But as soon as Cassienne stood by his side and turned toward the door, Tina left immediately, closing the door with a soft click.

Dreston exhaled lightly, his gaze still lingering on the door for a second before he turned to Cassienne.” Was she always like this?” Dreston asked. “Walking into your office without knocking?”

Cassienne let out a slow breath. “This is the second time,” she replied without looking at him. “And it will be the last time.”

Dreston studied her for a moment. “I am sorry about that.” He faced her fully now. “I should go to my office now.”

Dreston pulled her gently by the waist and leaned forward. He pressed a soft kiss to her lips. It was gentle and lingering. When he pulled back, he smiled.
