When Love Finds Its Way Back (Cassienne and Dreston) novel Chapter 325

Chapter Three Hundred And Twenty-Five: Now I Don’t Care

After the press conference with Dreston Tremont. Later that day, his mansion was quiet, but the internet outside was nowhere near calm.

Every major platform was still exploding with reactions.

Clips from Dreston Tremont’s press conference had already crossed millions of views within hours. Media pages reposted his words repeatedly while fan edits of him and Cassienne Rhodes flooded social media with dramatic music, slow-motion effects, and embarrassingly emotional captions.

Inside the mansion’s private living room, Cassienne sat curled slightly against the corner of the large cream sofa with her tablet resting across her lap.

She had been reading comments for nearly twenty minutes now.

And honestly?

She still had no idea how to process any of it.

One comment read: “This man said beloved wife carrying our unborn child and now I suddenly believe in love again.”

Another: “Dreston Tremont publicly claiming his wife like that? Yeah. The rest of us should just go home.”

Cassienne covered part of her face briefly with one hand.

Oh God. The internet was insane.

A soft laugh escaped her before she could stop it.

Then another post appeared.

This one split between: Dreston and Cassienne, Corren and Aurora

The caption beneath it read: “Tech billionaires are either emotionally unavailable or publicly declaring eternal love. There is no middle ground.”

Cassienne shook her head slowly. For the first time in months, people were no longer insulting her or accusing her, or reducing her to rumors.

The shift felt strange emotionally, and relieving, too. And honestly overwhelmed.

The sound of footsteps pulled her attention toward the entrance of the living room.

The moment she saw Dreston walking in. Cassienne stood immediately. She crossed the space between them quickly before he could even properly loosen his tie, then wrapped both arms around his neck and kissed him. Dreston stopped walking instantly. Completely caught off guard. But only for half a second.

His hands slid automatically around her waist, pulling her fully against him as he kissed her back deeply.

The kiss carried relief, and exhaustion. And underneath it all. A quiet emotional release after everything the day had become.

When Cassienne finally pulled back slightly, Dreston rested his forehead briefly against hers before exhaling softly. “Well,” he murmured quietly, “that’s one way to welcome your husband home.”

Cassienne’s cheeks warmed faintly, but she did not move away from him. “You deserved that.”

Dreston’s eyes softened instantly.

That answer touched him far more deeply than she realized.

His hand slid gently against her lower back before he looked down at her carefully. “You watched the conference.”

Cassienne stared at him for a second before narrowing her eyes slightly. “You really said all that publicly.”

Dreston’s expression remained completely calm. “Was any part a lie?”

Cassienne opened her mouth. Then closed it again. Because honestly?

No.

Nothing he said had been a lie. And somehow that made hearing it publicly even more emotional.

Dreston studied her face quietly before his mouth curved faintly. “You liked it.”

Cassienne immediately turned away from him. “Don’t start.”

That only made him more amused. “You definitely liked it.”

“I did not.”

“Cassienne.

She finally looked back at him with visible embarrassment now. “You called me your beloved wife in front of the entire country.” 1

“And?”

“And people are making edits.”

Dreston blinked once. “Edits?”

Cassienne silently handed him the tablet. Dreston looked down and then stared.

A dramatic video montage of him looking at Cassienne across various public events played slowly across the screen while heartbreak music blasted unnecessarily in the background.

The caption read: “He loved her in every lifetime.”

Dreston looked genuinely disturbed.

Cassienne burst into laughter immediately. “Oh my God, your face.”

“This is psychological warfare.”

Cassienne laughed harder.

Dreston placed the tablet aside before suddenly pulling her back against him again. “You’re enjoying this too much.”

“I really am.”

His hands settled naturally around her waist as he looked down at her quietly.

The warmth between them now felt different. Lighter and peaceful.
