When Love Finds Its Way Back (Cassienne and Dreston) novel Chapter 332

Chapter Three Hundred And Thirty-Two: The Gala Had Finally Began

The annual Southvale Technology and Innovation Gala has always been one of the most influential events in Nether-Kingdom.

Every year, founders, investors, executives, innovators, politicians, and media personalities gather beneath one roof to celebrate achievements that have shaped the country’s technological future.

This year felt different.

The excitement surrounding the event had reached unusual levels. And not because of a product launch. No, because of a billion-dollar acquisition.

Not even because several international investors had flown in specifically to attend. No.

People were talking about the guests. And more specifically, two couples.

One newly engaged.

One newly revealed.

And everyone wanted to see them.

The ballroom itself occupied the entire top floor of the Royal Meridian Grand Hotel in Southvale. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceiling while soft golden light reflected across polished marble floors. Large screens displayed highlights from some of the year’s biggest technological breakthroughs while a live orchestra played near the center of the hall.

Outside, luxury vehicles continued arriving one after another. The media section had already become crowded.

Photographers stood ready.

Reporters adjusted microphones.

Everyone waited.

The first major captured arrival of the evening belonged to Corren Thornwyck.

The moment his vehicle stopped, cameras immediately began flashing. Corren stepped out, looking calm and unbothered.

He is the type of man who seemed completely unaffected by attention despite attracting it everywhere he went. But tonight, for the first time, he wasn’t alone.

Aurora Stephen stepped out beside him. And there was a commotion.

The flashes doubled. Even tripled. Questions flew from every direction. “Mr. Thornwyck!”

“Miss Stephen!”

“When is the wedding?”

“How did the proposal happen?”

“Are you already planning the ceremony?”

Aurora nearly froze. It wasn’t that she was afraid or anything related. But because she wasn’t used to this kind of life.

For years she had worked quietly. Built her boutique quietly. Now apparently she was public property.

Corren noticed how she was affected, and without saying a word, he offered his arm.

Aurora glanced at him. Then she accepted it.

The simple gesture somehow made the reporters even more excited.

Corren sighed.

Aurora laughed softly. “You’re making it worse.”

“I know.”

The amusement in his voice surprised her.

Together, they entered the venue.

The moment they disappeared inside, another luxury vehicle arrived.

This time, the attention shifted to Ray Simpson as he stepped out alone.

Several reporters immediately exchanged looks.

Questions quickly followed. “Dr. Simpson!”

“How is Tina Ackley’s condition?”

“Will Simpson Medical Center release an official statement?”

“Are the recovery reports accurate?”

Ray remained polite, professional, and careful.

Years of dealing with media attention had taught him exactly how much information to reveal.

After giving a brief response, he entered the hotel.

Inside the ballroom, several executives immediately approached him.

Business never truly stopped. Not even during social events. A few minutes later, another vehicle arrived.

This one carried the Noah siblings.

Kael Noah exited first. A very tall and well composed man looking elegant. The type of man who drew attention without trying.

Then Daisy stepped out beside him. The media barely recognized Kael before several photographers began taking pictures.

Not because of him. But because of Daisy. Thanks to her connection with Cassienne, her growing reputation inside the technology industry, and her association with several influential circles, people had become increasingly curious about her.

Daisy immediately regretted stepping out of the car. “I hate cameras.”

Kael looked amused. “You’ve said that every year.”

“Because I hate them every year.’

He offered his arm. She accepted it. Then they walked toward the entrance together.

From a distance, they genuinely looked like a couple. Neither of them noticed. Unfortunately, some people did.

Inside the ballroom, Jessica Tremont arrived with several members of her professional E-sports team.

Unlike most people attending, Jessica looked completely thrilled.

Everything excited her. She greeted people enthusiastically while her teammates tried unsuccessfully to keep up.

One of them finally sighed. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”

Jessica grinned. “You only live once.”

“You said that at the airport.”

“I was right then too.”

The team groaned collectively.

Jessica laughed.

Meanwhile, more influential guests continued arriving.

Investors.

Founders.

Politicians.

Executives.

The ballroom gradually filled.

Yet despite the growing crowd, people kept checking the entrance.

Waiting and watching. They were expecting.

Because the guests everyone truly wanted to see had not arrived yet.

Inside the ballroom, whispers had already begun.

“Do you think they’re coming?”

“They have to.”

“After that press conference?”

“They’d be crazy not to.”

Across the room, Corren heard part of the conversation and shook his head.

Aurora noticed. “They’re waiting for Cassienne and Dreston.”

“Obviously.”

Aurora smiled. “You sound jealous.”

“I’m offended.”

That made her laugh. Then suddenly the ballroom shifted noticeably.

Conversations slowed. Heads turned. People looked toward the entrance. And one by one. The ripple spread across

the room.
