When Love Finds Its Way Back (Cassienne and Dreston) novel Chapter 74

Chapter SeventyFour: Tina Was In The Club?

By the time Dreston and Aurora reached the restroom hallway, it was already too late. Cassienne lay sprawled on the cold dusty floor with blood pooling beneath her head. Her body was unnaturally still as she had already lost

consciousness.

Oh my God.Aurora screamed, her hands flew up to her mouth, her eyes widened.

Who did this?Daisy whispered, frightened.

Dreston didn’t hesitate for even a second. He dropped to his knees beside her, his heart slamming frantically against his ribs as he gathered her into his arms. Her weight felt terrifyingly light and fragile in his hold.

Without waiting for explanations or answers, he bolted down the hallway.

Aurora’s scream echoed behind him as tears streamed freely down her face. Daisy followed, sobbing openly, barely able to keep up.

Outside the restroom area, Garry was already on the phone, his voice loud and urgent as he spoke to a doctor friend, yelling out details as he moved.

Dreston carried Cassienne straight through the club, ignoring the stares and startled gasps around them. Music still thumped, oblivious to the emergency unfolding.

He pushed through the crowd, his grip tightening around her limp body as he headed straight for the exit.

The moment his bodyguards spotted him approaching the parking lot with a bleeding woman in his arms, shock flashed across their faces, but they reacted instantly, swinging open the back door of the SUV.

Just as Dreston was about to step inside, Garry’s voice stopped him.

I just spoke to Ray,Garry said breathlessly. He’s on duty. Let’s take her to Southvale Capital Hospital.

Dreston nodded without argument. He climbed into the back seat, carefully positioning Cassienne against his chest as though sheer will could keep her alive.

To the Capital Hospital,he barked at the driver. Now. Hurry.

The SUV pulled away immediately, tires screeching slightly as the driver sped off. Another vehicle carrying the bodyguards followed close behind.

Garry turned to Aurora, who stood frozen in place, with trembling hands.

What exactly happened?he asked, forcing himself to control his anger. How did you know something was wrong with Cassienne?

Aurora opened her mouth, but no words came out. Fear wrapped tightly around her chest. Her mind replayed the image she couldn’t shake, the hurried figure, the trench coat, the face cap, the flash of blonde hair….Tina.

The thought made her stomach churn. If Tina were innocent, why hide her identity?

Still, there was no proof. It was only a suspicion and suspicion alone wasn’t enough. So Aurora stayed silent.

Please,Daisy said softly, breaking the heavy tension between Dreston and Aurora. Let’s just get to the hospital. We can only hope the injuries aren’t too severe.

At Southvale Capital Hospital, Cassienne was rushed into treatment immediately.

Dreston sat alone on a bench in the corridor, elbows resting on his knees. His hands were still stained with Cassienne’s blood, now dry and dark against his skin.

Even his brown jacket bore crimson marks, but he didn’t notice them. He already lost the will to care. All that mattered was Cassienne’s safety.

Minutes stretched endlessly as he waited for the doctor to come out. Every passing footstep made his chest squeeze with panic. When he finally heard familiar voices approaching, he lifted his head.

Garry arrived first, followed closely by Daisy and Aurora.

How is she?Garry asked as soon as he reached him.

What are the doctors saying?Daisy added anxiously. Each one of their faces mirrored his own fear.

They haven’t said anything yet,Dreston replied. I’m still waiting to hear from them.

It’s all my fault,Aurora sobbed. I should have followed her when she was leaving.

The words came out broken as guilt crushed her chest. Tears streamed down her face as she blamed herself over and over again.

Garry pulled her into his arms, wrapping them firmly around her shoulders. Aurora’s head fell against his chest as she cried. His presence was the only thing keeping her upright. In the midst of mayhem and fear, their closeness felt natural, like it was always meant to be.

Despite everything happening around them, Daisy noticed the intimacy. The way Garry’s hand rested protectively at Aurora’s back.

Before she could dwell on it further, the operatingtheater doors swung open. A tall body stepped out and walked toward them.

It was Doctor Ray. He was tall, broadshouldered, and undeniably handsome. His brown hair was neatly trimmed and perfectly styled, untouched by the long hours that came with being a doctor. There was an air of confidence about him that immediately drew attention. If no one noticed, Daisy did.

The man noticed her stare but didn’t linger on it. His focus shifted straight to Dreston. Ray,Dreston called. Talk to me.

Relax, man,Doctor Ray replied with a reassuring smile. Your wife is fine. She’s sleeping now.

The word wife made Daisy lift a brow. Since when did people start calling Cassienne Dreston’s wife? Interesting. Dreston released a breath he hadn’t realized he’d been holding. What’s the damage?he asked.

It looks like her head was slammed against something hard,Ray explained. That caused the excessive bleeding. There’s a small cut behind her ear, nothing serious. She also has bruises on her ribs. Whoever attacked her intended to break it, but they didn’t succeed.

He paused briefly before adding, She’s fine. Luckily there’s no internal damage or things could have been worse.A collective sigh of relief spread through the corridor as the tension drained from the space.

Thank you, Ray,Dreston said quietly. This means more to me than you know.

Ray nodded, then stepped closer to Garry and stopped, his gaze shifting to Aurora, who was still leaning against
