When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 501

Chapter 501: The Best Man in the World

Before Baron could utter a single word, Natalie cut in swiftly.

“My husband has more than enough money. Don’t just throw out a hundred million—he could easily come up with a billion! Jensen, don’t underestimate people like that!” she declared firmly, her voice unwavering.

Jensen’s face instantly fell, clearly wounded by Natalie’s fierce defense of Baron.

“Natalie, he’s nothing but a useless live-in son-in-law. Why are you trying to defend him? Even though his last name is Gunn, does he truly belong in the Gunn family? A billion? If this Baron can really produce a billion, then maybe I’ll admit he’s better,” Jensen sneered, his tone dripping with disdain.

Baron’s eyes flashed with anger as he shot back immediately, “I don’t want someone like you as a descendant. If I did, I’d probably be driven mad with frustration.”

Jensen clenched his chest in irritation, his voice sharp as a blade. “Enough! Your mouth is your only talent. Besides that, what else do you have? Baron, it’s wise to know your limits. Don’t get a big head.”

“Natalie!” Baron called out, his voice tense.

Natalie could no longer hold back. When Baron first told her he was the Stone family’s live-in son-in-law, she thought it was a bit improper, but Baron assured her he understood his place and was comfortable with it. But now, hearing Jensen belittle Baron so cruelly—and noticing the sneers and smirks from those around them—Natalie’s heart ached deeply.

Baron was not some worthless live-in son-in-law!

Even if she put aside his identity as the Godfather, the wealth of Grant International Holdings alone rivaled that of the entire Stone family.

To think that the dignified Chairman of Grant International Holdings was being mocked by someone like Jensen ignited a fierce blaze of anger within her.

Sensing Natalie’s rising temper, Baron quickly intervened. “Alright, enough of this nonsense. Let’s just leave.”

“Natalie, don’t go with him,” Jensen pleaded desperately. “Where could he possibly take you to live? It’s just a hotel, and hotels are far from safe right now.”

But Natalie, with a sudden sharpness, slapped him across the face without hesitation.

Jensen was stunned, his expression frozen in shock.

“Natalie?” he gasped.

“Jensen, we broke up a long time ago. From now on, please call me Ms. Stone. Using ‘Natalie’ like we used to is inappropriate between us. And my husband is the best man in the world. If I ever hear you mock or belittle him again, don’t blame me for being harsh,” she said, her eyes blazing with fury that cut through Jensen’s gaze like fire.

His eyes reddened, voice trembling with a mixture of pain and grievance.
