When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 506

Chapter 506: The Surveillance Footage

On the surface, Waylon had arranged for the burial of the infant who had passed away. He did not raise any objections to the plan, and although Ruby wept uncontrollably, after six long months of grieving and healing, she gradually came to terms with the heartbreaking reality that her child was gone. Still, her emotions remained fragile, and the wound in her heart was far from healed.

Once these arrangements were completed, Xenon quietly approached his uncle with a request: to delve deeper into the truth behind the Stone family’s real child. It was then that a series of startling revelations came to light about the day Ruby gave birth.

Rachel was a seemingly ordinary woman, just a patient’s relative with no notable background. She had given birth only a few days before Ruby, delivering a baby boy, and her hospital room was located on the floor below Ruby’s. Concerned about Ruby and her newborn, Waylon had secured the entire third floor, forbidding anyone from entering without permission.

Yet, just two days after giving birth, Rachel had made several attempts to reach the third floor, only to be turned away repeatedly by the Stone family’s vigilant bodyguards. This behavior immediately raised Xenon’s suspicions.

At first glance, Rachel appeared to be a simple, unremarkable woman, far removed from the elite circles of high society. So why would she, barely recovered from childbirth, insist on trying to reach the third floor multiple times? What was she hoping to accomplish?

Determined to uncover the truth, Xenon focused his attention on Rachel. His investigation uncovered that Waylon, anxious to protect his wife and child, had secretly invested a considerable sum to install surveillance cameras throughout the hospital. At that time, such domestic surveillance was rare and difficult to obtain. Waylon had used his connections to import the equipment from abroad and had arranged for its discreet installation, instructing the hospital director to keep the matter confidential.

The hospital director, recognizing the Stone family’s influence and seeing potential benefits for the hospital, readily agreed to the plan without hesitation.

Xenon managed to locate the surveillance footage and carefully searched for any scenes involving Rachel. The videos revealed that Rachel had not only attempted to access the third floor but had even tried to bribe the bodyguards to gain entry, only to be firmly turned away each time.

These actions only deepened the mystery surrounding Rachel’s intentions.

Just as Xenon pondered what Rachel might be scheming, a surprising figure appeared on the footage—Loretta.

In the video, Loretta was heavily cloaked, her face mostly hidden. When she spotted Rachel, she immediately pulled her aside to a quiet, secluded corner, which still happened to be within the camera’s view.

“What are you doing here? Who exactly are you?” Loretta asked sharply.

Rachel, caught off guard, stared defensively at Loretta.

At this point, Loretta was still quite young. She glanced around cautiously before lowering her voice and whispering, “I’ve noticed you wandering around here for days. Are you trying to get something from the Stone family? Listen, the Stone family isn’t just any household. If you keep hanging around and they catch you, you could end up behind bars. They just had a baby, and security is tighter than ever. You don’t stand a chance.”

Rachel’s eyes flickered with a mixture of fear and realization—she knew she had been spotted.

She looked at Loretta warily, her gaze darting around nervously.

“You must come from a wealthy family, right? Why are you watching me so closely?” Rachel asked, suspicion creeping into her voice.

Loretta paused briefly, then replied coolly, “That’s none of your concern. Why don’t you just tell me what you want from the Stone family? Maybe I can help.”
