When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 516

Chapter 516: Jensen’s Disappearance

How could she have been so easily deceived? How was it possible that she had mistaken another child for her own daughter? The weight of this realization crushed her. Her real daughter had endured years of suffering, while she herself had been trapped in a haze of delusion, completely oblivious to the truth.

Ruby felt like the biggest fool alive.

Despite Natalie’s understanding and lack of blame, Ruby couldn’t shake the guilt gnawing at her heart. She even tried to recall the faintest details from her pregnancy, hoping to find some clue, but the memories were too distant. She knew she needed to talk to Waylon—only he might help piece together the fragments of her forgotten past.

Meanwhile, Baron wasted no time and began running blood tests on Ruby. The sterile scent of the clinic mingled with the quiet beep of machines, underscoring the tension in the air.

Yvonne, having cried herself dry, was finally persuaded by Natalie to return to her room and rest. The children, blissfully unaware of the turmoil around them, slept soundly in their beds, their peaceful breaths a stark contrast to the chaos unfolding.

Natalie glanced toward the sleeping children, relief washing over her that they remained untouched by the storm. She didn’t want to disturb their innocence, so she quietly slipped into the living room and sank into a chair.

Almost immediately, Shauna arrived, having received a message and rushing over with urgency.

“Madam, Mr. Baron is—”

“He should be occupied with the blood tests for my mother,” Natalie interrupted, her voice steady but laced with concern. “Do you need him for something important?”

Shauna hesitated, her expression conflicted, before shaking her head. “Since Mr. Baron is busy, I figured it was better to tell you directly.”

Natalie’s brow furrowed. “Tell me what?”

Shauna took a deep breath and met Natalie’s gaze. “Madam, Jensen is missing.”

At first, Natalie didn’t quite grasp the gravity of Shauna’s words. “Who’s missing?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Jensen,” Shauna repeated, her tone grim.

Natalie’s heart skipped a beat. “If Jensen’s missing, why haven’t the police been called? Why involve Baron? Are you suggesting Baron had something to do with this?”

“No,” Shauna quickly replied. “It’s because someone saw Alpha leaving Jensen’s side just before Jensen vanished. Since then, there’s been no sign of him—dead or alive. Loretta is frantic, searching everywhere for Alpha like a mad dog.”

“Mr. Baron doesn’t care much about the lives of others, especially a romantic rival like Jensen,” Shauna said thoughtfully. “But since this involves Alpha, he can’t just turn a blind eye. Maybe I should send Alpha away. Our influence is strongest in Murica. If Alpha returns there, it’ll be harder for anyone to falsely accuse him.”

Natalie frowned. She firmly believed Baron had nothing to do with Jensen’s disappearance. Though Baron disliked Jensen, he was the kind to settle scores directly, not by making people vanish. If Alpha fled, it would only make them look guilty.

“If Alpha gets captured, would he betray Baron?” Natalie asked, her voice tinged with worry.

Shauna shook her head firmly. “Alpha is one of Baron’s dark guards, adopted and raised by him since childhood. They would never betray him.”

“Then Alpha stays here,” Natalie decided without hesitation. “If Loretta wants to come demanding him, she must bring proof. Otherwise, no one touches Alpha. And no one is allowed to throw mud at Baron.”

Shauna felt a surge of reassurance looking at Natalie’s newfound authority. She had once thought Natalie too soft and easily bullied, but now it was clear she was growing stronger, more resolute.

The room fell silent for a moment, the weight of the situation pressing down on them all.

Chapter 517: The Blood Test Results awaited, but for now, the mystery of Jensen’s disappearance hung heavily in the air.
