When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 530

Chapter 530 The Night Hunt

Flynn’s eyes narrowed as he glanced over at Baron, noting the calm confidence radiating from him. “Do you have a plan?” he asked, curious because Baron seemed entirely unfazed by the looming danger.

Baron gave a slow nod. “Yes. There’s only one way to stop Loretta from reaching her destination: we need to make sure she has a car accident on the way.”

Waylon’s voice cut in sharply, concern evident. “No fatalities, Baron! Remember who you are—don’t go overboard.”

A low chuckle escaped Baron. “Relax, Dad. I have a family now. I’m not about to be reckless. The goal isn’t to seriously hurt her, just to delay her for a while. But we have to act fast and with precision—no room for mistakes, or everything falls apart.” He paused, eyes narrowing. “Besides, I have a feeling Rachel isn’t putting all her trust in Jensen. Even though he’s her biological son, Jensen doesn’t know who he really is. Rachel’s too cautious to entrust her entire life to just one person.”

Natalie’s brow furrowed at that. “Are you suggesting Rachel might be manipulating us?”

Baron shrugged slightly. “We can’t say for certain, but we need to be prepared for the possibility that she’s playing us.”

The room fell silent. Rachel had been part of the Stone family for over two decades, and yet, they had failed to see the venom beneath her carefully crafted facade.

Ruby’s lingering affection for Rachel had long since twisted into bitter hatred.

“She’s cunning, no doubt,” Ruby muttered. “We were overseas before, so we didn’t know her network. But she just came back to the country—she shouldn’t have any outside help. Otherwise, why would she have to rely on Jensen, who knows nothing?”

Baron listened to their thoughts, then shook his head slowly. “I don’t believe Rachel would come back so boldly without backup. Anna was just a pawn—there’s someone else pulling the strings.”

Another heavy silence settled over the group.

Just as the tension thickened, Natalie suddenly spoke up, her voice breaking the quiet. “Wait—earlier you said Jensen disappeared mysteriously from ‘home.’ Where exactly was this ‘home’? It couldn’t have been Grand Pavilion, could it?”

Baron’s face tightened instantly. Jensen had given Grand Pavilion to Natalie. Even if he hadn’t wanted her living there after their breakup, the house was a gift to an ex-girlfriend—why would Jensen still be there? A knot twisted painfully in Baron’s stomach; something about the situation made him uneasy.

Flynn glanced at Baron. “That’s a question for our brother-in-law. After all, he was the one who took the call.”
