**Chapter 586 The Man She Missed**
Yulia had never witnessed Baron displaying such unwavering devotion to anyone before. It was a sight that filled her with a mix of surprise and confusion.
When she had set out to investigate Natalie, she had been convinced that it was Natalie who was marrying up in life. Yulia had planned to come in and support Baron, assuming that marrying into the Stone family would bring him nothing but hardship as a son-in-law. Yet, the dynamic between Baron and Natalie was nothing like she had anticipated.
In that moment, she observed the unmistakable love shimmering in Natalie’s eyes and felt the warmth of happiness radiating from Baron.
So, Baron had chosen to marry Natalie of his own volition?
Was this decision not born out of any ulterior motives or calculations?
This sudden realization struck Yulia like a bolt of lightning, leaving her momentarily speechless.
Baron was acutely aware of Yulia’s gaze fixed upon him, yet he seemed utterly indifferent to her presence.
In the Gunn family, Yulia was one of the few individuals who possessed a semblance of a moral compass. Moreover, she was Jonas’s wife. For Jonas, Yulia had nearly torn the family apart, which had led to her being ostracized. They had disregarded her status, attempting to pull her back into their fold.
Now, with Jonas’s injuries healed, he had been drawn back into the fold of Grant International Holdings as the vice president, courtesy of Baron. Baron understood the depth of Jonas’s feelings for Yulia, which tempered any malice he might have felt toward her.
Natalie could sense the subtle shift in Baron’s demeanor.
As long as someone posed no threat to Baron, she would not genuinely target them.
Noticing Yulia’s simmering anger, Natalie took the initiative to reach into her bag and pulled out one of the crab roe buns, extending it toward Yulia.
“Would you like one?” she asked, her voice laced with genuine kindness.
“Yes,” Yulia replied, her hand reaching out eagerly. But before she could grasp it, Baron swiftly intercepted her.
“I bought these crab roe buns especially for you, wifey. I stood in line for what felt like an eternity to get them. You barely have enough for yourself, so why would you give it away?”
Yulia felt a surge of frustration that brought tears to her eyes once more.
“Baron, you absolute jerk! I’m just trying to have one of your wife’s crab roe buns! Do you really have to be like this? Fine, I’ll pay for it!”
Baron smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief. “All your accounts are frozen by the Gunn family. What exactly will you pay with?”
He took pleasure in her predicament, kicking her when she was down.
Yulia felt her throat tighten at his words, and she sank into her chair, tears streaming down her face as she wept in solitude.
“Even you bully me! There isn’t a single good person in the Gunn family! Woo woo! I miss Jonas. If he were here, he would never let anyone treat me like this! Woo woo…”
The more Yulia cried, the more her heart ached, each sob echoing her sense of betrayal and loss.
