When She Rose From the Ashes (Natalie and Jensen) novel Chapter 588

**TITLE: HereSelf 588**
**CONTENT: Chapter 588 The Truth Comes Calling**

Baron stood at the edge of the living room, his mouth opening slightly as if to share a thought, but before he could utter a word, Natalie, with a playful tug on his arm, interrupted him. “I bought you some clothes; they’re in the bedroom. Why not go try them on and see how they fit?”

His eyes lit up with genuine excitement. “You got something for me?”

Without wasting another moment, Baron dashed off toward the bedroom, a spring in his step that showcased his joy.

Meanwhile, Waylon and Flynn had just returned, and the sight of Baron’s exuberance left them in a state of bemusement. They exchanged glances, unsure whether to laugh out loud or feel a pang of sympathy for the man.

“Can you believe it? He’s the Godfather of Murica, for crying out loud. If anyone else saw him like this, they’d think he was an imposter,” Waylon remarked, a note of incredulity in his voice.

Natalie bristled at Waylon’s words, her protective instincts flaring. “What’s wrong with being the Godfather of Murica? Is he not allowed to spoil his wife?”

Her retort silenced Waylon, leaving him momentarily speechless.

“Okay, okay! We’d better keep our comments to ourselves about Baron, or our Natalie here will leap down our throats,” he conceded, a grin creeping onto his face.

“Dad—” Natalie began, her cheeks flushing a bright shade of crimson.

Ruby, observing her daughter’s embarrassment, gently pulled her hand and guided her to sit beside Waylon. “Your dad is just a tad jealous. If that damned bastard hadn’t switched you at birth all those years ago, our family of four wouldn’t have missed out on so much time together.”

The mention of the switch made Natalie pause, memories swirling in her mind. After a moment, she spoke up, her voice steady but filled with curiosity. “I met Baron’s sister, Yulia, today. She mentioned that she knows the truth about me being switched, and it seems to tie back to the Gunn family. Have you ever had any run-ins with them?”

Waylon and Ruby exchanged shocked glances, their surprise palpable.

“Our Stone family has no ties whatsoever to the Gunn family! We’ve never offended them. They’re an old, established family, and our businesses don’t even overlap. We’ve always steered clear of their projects because we’ve heard their methods aren’t exactly… gentle,” Waylon explained, his brow furrowing in concern.

The realization that their family’s past might somehow connect to the Gunn family was an unsettling thought for him.

Flynn, though not in a position to assert much, nodded in agreement. “The Stone family’s business dealings have never intersected with the Gunns. There’s no way we could have offended them.”

Natalie had already suspected as much, so their reactions didn’t surprise her.

“Let’s just wait and see what Yulia has to say. Maybe she’ll shed some light on all of this,” she suggested, her tone calm but hopeful.

With that, Waylon fell silent, knowing there was little else to say for now.

Moments later, Baron reappeared, his face alight with enthusiasm, showcasing the suit Natalie had chosen for him.

“Look! How do I look in this suit?” he exclaimed, his voice full of pride.

Flynn glared at him, frustration etched on his face, but he was powerless to retort.

The family continued to joke and laugh, their spirits soaring high.

The children gathered around Holt, their laughter ringing through the room as they played joyfully.

Just as the warmth of the family atmosphere enveloped them, the door swung open, revealing Yulia and Jonas.

Yulia had learned from Jonas himself that Baron was the one who had rescued him from the clutches of the Gunn family. A wave of gratitude and guilt washed over her as she approached her brother.

“Thank you. Thank you for bringing Jonas back to me,” she said earnestly, bowing deeply in a gesture of respect and gratitude.

Baron held no ill feelings toward her; the grudges of the past should not be carried into the present. Yulia had always treated him kindly, even risking her own safety to protect him and their mother from the Gunn family’s wrath. He recalled the sacrifices she had made, the pain she endured for their sake.

“If you truly wish to thank me, just tell us you know,” Baron replied, his voice steady as he invited them to sit.

Waylon had a servant prepare tea, and after a brief moment, he excused himself from the room, leaving the siblings to their reunion.

Jonas helped Yulia settle onto the sofa, quietly pouring tea for everyone, his demeanor calm and collected, neither overly submissive nor arrogant, exuding a quiet confidence that made the atmosphere feel even more charged with unspoken emotions.
