When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 116

One by one, the needles pierced down, dragging back the man who had hovered on death’s edge.

His breathing returned, his heartbeat steadied, and his consciousness slowly gathered again.

It was as if a ray of light spilled into the pitch-black world, warmth spreading through his body, driving out the chill and darkness.

A feeling long buried deep in memory stirred awake.

Taylor suddenly reached out and grabbed Serena’s hand.

Celeste finally snapped back to herself, rushing forward and yanking Serena’s hand away with brute force.

Serena’s bracelet snapped, and an emerald bead slipped into the pocket of Taylor’s undershirt.

Celeste glared at Serena, bristling like she’d claw her to death if she dared lay a finger on Taylor.

With Taylor pulled back to life, Serena let out a long breath of relief.

She couldn’t be bothered with Celeste, just picked up the broken bracelet and slipped it into her pocket. "He’s fine now. Make sure he gets glucose. And let him rest."

She slung her bag over her shoulder and left.

Taylor stirred faintly awake, opening his eyes to see Celeste’s tear-streaked face. "You saved me again…"

Celeste froze for a moment, not answering directly. "You’re still very weak. You need glucose…"

Outside, Indigo watched Serena leaving the lab, his eyes narrowing.

Before school was even over, shocking news exploded across the forums.

Taylor had collapsed in the lab, and Celeste had heroically saved him.

Indigo couldn’t focus on his game anymore. He slid a note over: "I saw you coming out of Taylor’s lab."

Serena was reading through Taylor’s design draft. Since he’d nearly worked himself to death, she for once gave him detailed notes. With her comments, he wouldn’t waste time on detours. He’d be able to complete the robotic arm with precision down to ten-thousandths of an inch—one of the very best on the market.

When she didn’t answer, Indigo scribbled again: "Celeste is too stupid. How could she know first aid?"

Still no response.

Frustrated, he kept at it: "Were you running so fast this morning because you went to see Taylor?"

"How did you even know something happened to him?"

"Did you hack into his lab to spy on him? Serena, are you a psycho?"

Finally Serena turned her head. Indigo was certain he’d hit the mark.

But the next second, she raised her hand. "Mr. Remy, Indigo’s passing me love notes."

"Shit!" Indigo nearly exploded on the spot.

Remy’s face darkened. "A thousand-word essay!"

Serena nearly choked. Rowan, you didn’t have to mention the phone! Some things can stay unsaid!
