When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 151

Inside the school infirmary, Noah finished giving his report.

Sebastian looked out the window and saw Serena walking this way. His gaze lingered on the girl for several seconds before he finally let out a quiet "mm."

Then he stood up.

Noah also noticed the girl approaching and asked, "Aren't you going to say hello to Miss Serena?"

"No need."

Their enemy hadn’t touched him directly, but had chosen to go after Zachariah during their encirclement. It was both a warning and a provocation. Maybe, without realizing it, he had already dragged her into this.

That little girl usually kept her distance from him, acting like she didn’t even know him. If she found out she had been pulled into something so terrifying, she would be frightened out of her mind, wouldn’t she?

When Serena stepped into the infirmary, she immediately caught Sebastian’s scent. She paused outside for a moment but didn’t see him come out. Instead, Zayden appeared and led her into the treatment room.

"He was here?" Serena asked.

Zayden answered, "Just left."

Serena made a quiet sound of acknowledgment, her tone unreadable.

Not long after, Patrick arrived with his mother Yvette, just as he had arranged with Zayden.

"Mr. Jackson, I haven’t been able to gather the full five million yet."

"It’s fine, you can pay in installments." He paused, then, knowing the girl’s temperament, added, "Don’t forget the interest."

Patrick didn’t dare complain. A skilled acupuncturist capable of anesthetizing patients was hard to come by. The fact that this man had agreed to take the job was already more than he could hope for.

Zayden told him to wait outside, then personally wheeled Yvette into the treatment room.

Inside, Yvette saw only a young girl preparing incense. Unease filled her chest. "Can my illness really be cured?"

She didn’t dare show fear in front of her son, nor did she dare question the doctor. Somehow, though, she felt that this girl in front of her could put her more at ease.

Serena studied her complexion. She had been present during Zayden’s last treatment and had discussed the follow-up plan with him.

"Some illnesses can’t be cured," she replied. "But you can live with them in peace. You can still expect decades of life."

The words were calm, free of empty promises or forced reassurances. Yet Yvette suddenly felt her heart settle.

An hour later, Serena walked out of the treatment room.

Patrick asked, "What are you doing here?"

Serena ignored him, picked up her schoolbag, and left.

Panic gripped Patrick. Serena held grudges and loved causing trouble. Had she done something to his mother in secret?

Before Zayden could even speak, Patrick rushed into the treatment room.
