When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 155

They had almost forgotten—just last week, Taylor Mo had collapsed from overwork. What he needed was rest, not to bury himself in such impossible problems.

This was First High’s battle, not his alone to shoulder.

"President Taylor, we’ll stand with you!"

It wasn’t just the research team that rallied. Members of the student council rushed over as soon as they heard. Teachers from the physics department showed up as well, unwilling to sit idly by when the school’s honor was at stake.

The top students from Building A felt the weight of responsibility and hurried to help, only to run into the underachievers of Building B.

"You guys can’t even read the question—what are you here for?" the Building A elites scoffed.

The Building B slackers shot back, "And what if we manage to solve it?"

"If you solve it," Building A sneered, "we’ll call you Dad."

"Fine," Building B said. "Son!"

Just for that, the Building B kids swore they’d crack the problem out of sheer spite.

Class 19 was buzzing with outrage.

"So if we can’t solve it, that means First High loses? Isn’t Experimental High going too far? Bringing in outside help was bad enough, but now they’re throwing out one of Dr. Q’s apprentice test problems? Shameless!"

Solstice and the others were fuming.

Indigo glanced at Serena, who was calmly scrolling on her phone.

"This problem isn’t beyond the curriculum," Indigo said. "The issue is that no one has figured out the right direction or approach." He paused, then deliberately raised his voice. "If we don’t solve it tomorrow, the day after’s match won’t happen. That one-million prize money will vanish. What a pity."

Solstice and the others looked at one another, torn. Was the Horizon Research Institute spot more important, or was the million in cash?

Why did it feel like Indigo’s priorities were… a little off?

Indigo’s eyes, however, never left Serena. At the mention of a million, the little troublemaker’s thumb had frozen for just a second before she resumed scrolling as smoothly as ever. Even so, it made his chest tighten in frustration.

By noon, nearly everyone was bent over the problem in the gymnasium. Serena, however, was inserting needles into Yvette.

"Everyone else is at the gym, and you’re not going? Don’t you care?" Patrick asked darkly.

Serena’s face didn’t change. "If I go, are you going to treat your mother’s illness?"

His scowl deepened. He really should’ve known better than to talk to her.

When the treatment ended, Zayden said, "We’ll draw blood again in two days. After that, you won’t need to come anymore."

Patrick blinked. "Th-that’s it?"

Serena raised a brow. "What more do you want?"
