When the GF9 Test Subject Became His Obsession novel Chapter 83

Their eyes locked in a silent standoff, both sending the same message: That money should’ve been mine.

Shiloh glanced at Serena and asked cautiously, “Serena, did you turn in your foreign language test paper?”

Serena didn’t answer. Instead, she asked, “Was it supposed to be archived by the student council?”

Shiloh felt a cold tingle creep across his scalp. “Don’t panic. If you turned it in, we’ll find it. I promise.”

Before he even finished his sentence, Serena was already out the door.

“Holy shit, she’s going to deal with the student council!”

Rowan bolted after her.

Solstice stood up at once. “You three, come with me.”

A whole group of boys from Class 19 followed Serena without hesitation, thundering after her like a pack of soldiers.

Indigo frowned, slid his phone into his pocket, and followed them out the door with his hands stuffed in his coat.

Class 19 suddenly buzzed with righteous fury.

Natalie’s teeth ground together so hard she nearly cracked a molar. “Mr. Shiloh, aren’t you going to stop them?”

When had Serena become so popular? Even Indigo was getting involved now?

Shiloh stroked his chin as if he hadn’t heard her at all. Instead, he sighed wistfully. “Classmates should always love and support one another. That’s how it should be.”

Natalie and the rest of the class were speechless.

Inside the student council office, Joshua was fuming. “If I’d known this would happen, I would’ve trashed one more of her test papers!”

Too bad the world didn’t come with a rewind button.

Celeste sat with her eyes swollen from crying. In all her life, she had never scored this poorly. The first time she’d fallen out of the top five, it had been because of Serena. Now she’d dropped out of the top ten—again because of Serena.

Her arm was still in pain, and the scandal from those illicit photos still hadn’t died down. Rumors continued to swirl that she might’ve staged them herself. The injustice of it all had her chest about to burst. Her grades were a complete mess, and now even her early admission to Howerton University was at risk—all thanks to Serena.

Ever since Serena showed up, her entire life had been thrown into chaos.

Serena was her curse.

“Celeste, don’t cry,” Joshua said gently, full of indignation on her behalf. “People like Serena only know how to use cheap, dirty tricks. She’ll get what’s coming to her sooner or later!”

“Serena, could I have your autograph?”

Everyone froze. The tension was thick enough to cut with a knife. Read the room, girl!

Joshua’s brows shot up in fury. “Jennifer! Was it you who hid Serena’s paper? Get it out here now! Class 19 is practically waging war on us because of this. How could you be so careless? Even if you like Serena, you can’t go around stealing her test paper!”

The accusation came out of nowhere and landed like a brick to the face.

Jennifer Scott, only fifteen, had just started high school this year. Ever since Serena’s trumpet performance at the welcome party, she’d been obsessed.

Now, faced with her idol’s suspicion, her eyes welled with tears. “I… I didn’t…”

Her friend, who had come with her, frowned in displeasure. “You’re accusing us of hiding your test?”

Joshua piled on, his voice full of manufactured outrage. “Admit what you did. Otherwise, Class 19 will accuse the student council of shielding you and framing them. Is that what you want?”

“I really didn’t…” Jennifer whispered, trembling.

Her friend’s face darkened. “Do you even realize what she did for you, Serena? Jennifer stayed up all night working to make sure your grades could be posted today. She didn’t even drink water until noon. And now you’re accusing her? After everything she’s done because she admires you?”
