When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 332

Artina said nothing, her hands clenched into tight fists.

She was furious, unwilling to accept her fate!

Especially after seeing Jethro Nash, still so high and mighty. That made it even harder to swallow.

But she had no choice. She couldn't think of any other way.

If even a life-debt couldn't move Henrietta, what else could?

Matteo closed his eyes, but a moment later, they snapped open again. "Are you sure you left no evidence? Yosef is incredibly resourceful…"

"None. Absolutely none. Don't worry!" Artina insisted.

Only then did Matteo close his eyes again to rest.

Artina was also confident because there was, in fact, no evidence.

The attacker was a background actor who had always struggled at the bottom.

He was poor, unattractive, unmarried, and an orphan with no family.

He was the kind of person with a worthless life, made even more hopeless by a terminal illness.

Even medical treatment was a luxury he couldn't afford.

So, when Artina had met with him privately, they had just walked and talked casually.

The man was a fervent fan of Artina's. Having his goddess speak to him in person nearly made him lose his mind with joy.

He even saw it as a blessing from heaven, a chance to talk to his idol before he died.

They walked and talked for a while, and then Artina laid out her idea.

The man was shocked at first, but then, perhaps because he didn't have long to live, he agreed to help.

Given his miserable existence, he was filled with rage and resentment towards someone like Henrietta, who had been born with a silver spoon.

He couldn't accept it. Why were some people born in the gutter while others were born with a silver spoon in their mouths, getting to enjoy everything?

Of course, he had his own demand. He asked Artina… to sleep with him.

So this time, there were truly no loose ends.

But this time, she also hadn't gained a single thing!

She had hoped to make Henrietta feel moved, or even regretful enough to divorce Yosef.

At the very least, she had hoped Henrietta would feel a rekindling of affection for Matteo.

As long as there was feeling, that was the key to turning things around.

But in the end, there was nothing. Henrietta didn't even show a hint of gratitude.

Instead, Matteo almost died.

Now, he would need a month or two to recover before he could even get back to work…

This had backfired spectacularly.

Seeing Matteo lying there with his eyes closed, looking utterly defeated, Artina whispered, "Just focus on getting better. We have plenty of time. No one knows what the future holds. Where there's life, there's hope."
