Sherry was delighted when Quinton arrived, pulling him down to sit with her and look at wedding dresses.
Sherry sat in the middle, with Henrietta and Quinton on either side of her.
Quinton looked at Henrietta and greeted her, “Henrietta.”
Hrietta pursed her lips and nodded, replying, “Quinton.”
It was clear that Sherry was in high spirits, but she seemed indecisive, asking for Henrietta’s opinion on every single design.
Hrietta answered each question patiently, finally saying, “Sherry, just pick out any that you like, and we can try them on later. Once you’ve tried them on, you might know which one is best. If you like all of them, there’s no harm in wearing a few different ones.”
Sherry was even happier to hear that and nodded. “Yes, Henrietta, you’re so right.”
After saying that, Sherry subconsciously turned to look at Quinton.
She was surprised to find Quinton staring intently at Henrietta.
He seemed completely captivated.
Sherry paused for a moment but didn't think much of it. Instead, she asked, “Quinton, what do you think of this one?”
But embarrassingly, Quinton didn't hear her at all. He hadn't snapped out of it, his eyes still fixed on Henrietta.
What made it even more awkward was that they were in a bridal shop, surrounded by beautiful wedding gowns and fresh flowers. The air was thick with the romance of weddings.
So Quinton staring at Henrietta like that created a strange illusion…
As if they were the ones getting married.
Or perhaps, that Quinton wanted to marry Henrietta.
Of course, this was just a fleeting, subconscious impression.
Sherry still didn't take it to heart or even entertain the thought.
Instead, she repeated, “Quinton.”
Only then did Quinton snap back to reality.
But he didn't have time to pull back his gaze.
Hrietta looked up at him.
It was actually quite a coincidence.
Hrietta finally came to her senses and smiled. “Quinton, is there something on my face?”
Only then did Quinton pull himself out of his daze, realizing how he must have looked.
He quickly smiled and said, “No.”
He then lowered his eyes to Sherry and asked in a gentle tone, “What did you say just now?”
Because his tone and attitude were so gentle, Sherry still didn’t think anything of it. She pointed to the picture and said, “I was asking you what you think of this wedding dress.”
Quinton looked at it and replied, “It’s very nice. As long as you like it, that’s all that matters. I’m sure you’ll look beautiful in it.”
Sherry blushed slightly at the compliment, biting her lip as she smiled shyly.
It was clear that Sherry must truly feel very happy.
After all, considering her and her family's standing, marrying into the Sargent family and marrying Quinton meant she was climbing several rungs up the social ladder.
And Quinton seemed to treat her well enough; at least he wasn't cold or dismissive.
So Sherry was undoubtedly happy.
