The problem was that he was currently dead set on Henrietta.
Hearing this, Winona pursed her lips and said, "He has never considered an alliance with my family. He looks down on my brother anyway."
Henrietta sighed. Aware of Winona's complicated feelings toward Joaquin, she simply said, "Let nature take its course."
Winona fell silent.
Henrietta parted her lips, wanting to say something more.
She wanted to warn Winona not to play the hero for her sake or provoke Joaquin on her behalf.
Naturally, she was afraid her friend would get hurt.
But... she held back. The reality was that everyone viewed things differently.
Everyone had to walk their own path.
She decided to let Winona make her own choices without imposing her own judgment.
Besides, if Winona really had those intentions and acted on them, it might lead to a completely different outcome.
After all, not every romance started off flawlessly with everyone getting along perfectly.
Some started with a spark of friction.
Furthermore, what if Winona was genuinely falling for Joaquin? What if she needed to jump into that fire herself to find closure?
Life was full of pitfalls. Some could be avoided, but others...
Others you had to dive into headfirst, fully aware of the danger, just to experience the burn for yourself.
Besides, everyone was different. To Henrietta, Joaquin was a trap.
But maybe Winona didn't see it that way.
One person's poison was another person's cure.
With that in mind, Henrietta swallowed her initial warning and pivoted. "Anyway, whether I'm married or divorced, Joaquin and I are never happening. He's really not my type."
She wanted to reassure Winona that she was completely out of the equation.
Winona raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Yeah."
By the afternoon.
They brought the work schedules along, intending to make sure Matteo and his team knew what was coming.
Arriving at the hospital, they parked and stepped out of the car.
"Do we need to buy anything?" Winona asked.
"I wouldn't buy him a pack of gum if he was begging on the street," Henrietta replied.
Winona couldn't help but laugh. "Fair enough!"
The two of them walked into the hospital room, only to stumble right into Artina feeding Matteo fruit.
She was cutting an apple into tiny pieces and feeding them into his mouth with a small fork.
Seeing Henrietta, Matteo instantly panicked. "Henrietta."
Artina finally glanced over, freezing for a second before forcing a calm demeanor. "Ms. Sargent."
Winona scoffed first. "Are you two so deep in character that you can't snap out of it after wrapping up the shoot?"
"Artina, didn't you say you and Matteo were just colleagues? Since when does being coworkers involve spoon-feeding each other fruit?"
