When Two Winters Met (Henrietta and Yosef) novel Chapter 364

"You're absolutely stunning, babe. It was love at first sight. You're exactly my type. We just want to get to know you better."

It was obvious these thugs were fueled by lust and completely emboldened by their numbers.

Plus, they reeked of cheap booze, clearly wasted.

There were a few people walking through the lot at the time, and cars occasionally drove past.

But... nobody was willing to involve themselves in this kind of trouble.

Most of the bystanders were with their families, accompanied by their wives and kids.

"Henrietta, run!" Winona suddenly shouted.

But Henrietta would never leave Winona behind.

With her phone gone.

There was only one option left.

Henrietta immediately screamed at the top of her lungs, "Help! Somebody call the cops!"

A few pedestrians were startled, but... still, no one stepped forward to play the hero.

Her shouting only managed to infuriate the ringleader.

He immediately pulled a short black baton from his pocket, pressing a button that snapped it to its full length.

The creep snarled a vicious threat, "Don't make this hard on yourselves. Come with us quietly, and we'll take real good care of you."

Winona thrashed against her captors and hissed, "Run! There's a patrol car at the intersection!"

Henrietta was fast. Without wasting a second to reply, she spun around and sprinted away.

But Winona's eyes widened in horror, and she shrieked, "Henrietta, watch out!"

Seeing Henrietta bolt, the enraged thug recklessly swung the baton straight toward her head.

Hearing Winona's warning, Henrietta instinctively glanced back and was paralyzed by fear.

The heavy baton was coming down on her with brutal force.

Henrietta didn't even have time to dodge.

She could only stumble backward on instinct, throwing her arms up to shield herself.

Winona was terrified, struggling frantically. "Henrietta!"

Henrietta's pupils contracted. The man who had just saved her... was Aster Leland.

This was...

She was completely at a loss for words.

"You, you're bleeding," Henrietta said, forcing herself to stay calm.

Aster offered a faint smile. "I'm fine. As long as you're okay, Henrietta, a little blood is nothing."

As he spoke, he absentmindedly touched the back of his head and pulled his hand away to look.

His fingers were coated in crimson.

Aster wasn't alone; Joaquin was right there with him.

Aster had jumped in at the critical moment to take the blow for Henrietta, saving her from having her skull cracked open.

Joaquin had apparently been walking slightly behind him. By the time he caught up, Aster had already kicked the thug away.

Joaquin immediately sent his bodyguards forward, and the men holding Winona scrambled away in terror.

Winona lost her footing, but Joaquin reached out and steadied her.
