Chapter 157
Laina Demetra.
“Wait” I grab her arm and think about what just someone just said. “Dragon Class?”
I realize the time on my watch and my eyes go wide. We’re going to be late. I start pulling Lolly through the crowd, weaning between groups of students who are still staring at the helicopter.
“Yeah, I heard that. What did he mean by that? Dragon Class?”
The line in the hallway makes absolutely no sense.
It’s not moving. There are students backed up from what looks like the main entrance all the way to the corridor junction. and nobody seems to know why, and nobody seems particularly bothered by not knowing why, which tells me this is * regular occurrence at Wolf Arts and everyone has simply accepted it as part of the experience.
I check the time. Ten minutes to class.
Lolly and I shuffle forward with the line at the pace of something geological and I’m in the middle of calculating whether we can cut through the side corridor when I feel it a sudden collision of someone’s shoulder catching mine.
My bag slides off and hit the floor.
I look down at my bag and then I look at the person who hit me.
She’s already crouched, gathering herself, but her hands are shaking. Not slightly….but visibly, the kind of shaking that the body does when it’s running on adrenaline and trying to pretend it isn’t. Her glasses have gone crooked on her face. She’s looking back over her shoulder before she’s even fully upright.
I reach for her hand before I think about it.
“Are you okay?”
She snaps back to me. Adjusts her glasses with one finger. “Um…yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. I’m good.” She says it fast but means none of it cause her heartbeat is going at a pace that has nothing to do with fine or good.
Then the crowd parts and two male wolves come down the hallway.
They are Identical in face, height, walk and build. But one is dark–haired and the other is blonde. Right next to them is a girl dressed in the same dark outfit. Together, they look like villains from a TV series.
Wait…the blonde girl on their left-
I see her half a second before Lolly says it.
“Is that Cassie?”
It is absolutely Cassie.
Cassie from the art competition.
Shit shit shit shit!
The girl with the now–very–crooked glasses is trying to disappear behind me. She is physically shifting her body into my shadow and angling her face away and it is extremely clear that the approaching group is exactly what she was running

The Twin Alphas are coming closer now and the crowd is tightening around us. Lolly melts into my side like she wants us to get out of here.
“No” Cassie snaps her fingers. “It’s definitely you. At the competition.” She points at Lolly. “I remember this one too
Lolly is currently failing to pay attention to Cassie because the Twin Alphas are getting closer.

Cassie stares at me for a moment.
“The Luna of the Black Covenant Pack.” She repeats it slowly. Then she rolls her eyes with her entire face. “Yeah. You wish. She looks past me at the girl in glasses,
“Hey Duit Don’t tell me you’re trying to hide behind a nobody”
The blonde twin laughs as he comes closer. “Nobody?” He looks me up and down. “Look again, this newbie is damn, pretty gorgeous and hot.”
