Chapter 171
Luna Demetra.
I look between Emris and her.
Laura Hale.
The moment I was brought into this room, she was already talking to the other professors about how I needed to be expelled! I didn’t even say what got me into taking such a drastic step…that, frankly, I remember making this time arous
Unlike the first time I shifted…hurt the red–haired girl and couldn’t remember any of it, this time I was there. But still. to explain!
Every time I got two words in Laura Hale picked up whatever large book was sitting in front of her and slammed it on the table and kept talking over me like I was a child interrupting adults. I have been sitting here getting progressively more aggravated in a way that my newly unlocked wolf is finding very easy to build on.
And now Dean Honey called Emris.
I literally put Aunt Allison as my guardian on the school forms because I don’t want anyone knowing I’m married to him. But right now, I’m not even sure if it’s still a secret. Well…as long as Emris doesn’t say wife or Luna, I swear it’s fine. Besides that, the matter at hand has gone out of that part. They’re literally talking about expelling me.
I still don’t know if Wren is okay.
“Who is she to you?” Laura asks. She’s talking to Emris now.
“I mean, you are the Alpha of the Covenant Pack… and this student is from the Lion Pride Pack. How are you connected?”
“My family kind of raised her.” Emris says.
After that nonsense eye contact, he’s been holding with Laura right under my eyes. What was that? Is it because they’re Trybrids? Is it friction between their wolves? I don’t even care…my wolf is actually getting more upset as I try to ignore it.
“Kind of raised her? What does that mean?”
“Is that related in any way to what we just watched on that video?” Emris asks pleasantly and looks at Honey. “By the way… why is a professor questioning me? I was under the impression this was an administrative meeting.”
“What we have in the video is Demetra physically assaulting multiple students to the point of bleeding. That is the matter.” Another professor says….his name is Parker something and I’m getting mad!
“You guys have not asked me a single question! Neither have you asked/any of the witnesses why that happened? Or what happened? Or why it escalated?”
I stand
answer since none of you are thinking to ask. Every single one of those students was brutalizing up
straighter. “I’ll one girl. Wren was alone on a bathroom floor with a mop stick on her head and toilet water being poured over her while students stood outside recording it. No one did anything. So I did.”
“Granted, you acted.” Dean Honey says. “But the degree of force-”
“They deserved it.” Emris says.
“This is exactly why I’m trying to know if you’re a guardian. Are you the appropriate party to be speaking on this student s behalf?” Laura’s eyes flick to Emris again. She hardly looks at anyone when she’s speaking, but for some reason, she holds eye contact with him.

Chapter 171
She didn’t look at me when I was talking. The book on the table was far more important.
Of course, I am. What I see here is that, as usual, Wolf Arts has a low support system for vulnerable students. And now a bunch of you are upset that a young wolf decided to defend the vulnerable. Am I wrong, Lake?”
Emris says it like he’s throwing shade. Like he’s mentioning Lake just to make me remember that I didn’t tell him Lake was a professor at this school-
Lake doesn’t answer. His face is blank but I see his jaw tighten.
“We don’t intervene in the actions of students here as where weak wolves come to find strength.”
long as they don’t draw blood.” Laura folds her arms. After all, this
“Oh, amazing!” I let out a laugh. “Do you know how stupid

that sounds?”
“What’s going to be stupid… Miss Pride is when you receive your expulsion notice. I vote that we expel her. This student is unremorseful after breaking off all the teeth of those wolves. Completely removing a she–wolf’s hair. Slashing another. She has to understand that Wolf Arts is exclusive for the exclusive. So like I said, I vote for her expulsion. And I want it commenced today-”
“Okay, pipe down when I’m speaking!?” I slam my hands on the podium. I can feel myself getting aggravated at Laura. My wolf is pressing against my ribs. My voice is shaking.
“You have been talking since I walked in here. Every time I try to explain what I saw, what I walked into, what was already happening before I did anything…you pick up that book and you talk louder. You haven’t asked me one question but somehow has decided the outcome!”
“That’s not how this works.” Laura sets her pen down. “We didn’t ask you to come here to speak your truth. We know what happened. We’re here to tell you the consequence of what happens when you break Wolf Arts regulations.” She picks the pen back up
and points it at me.
“Outside of a sanctioned Mascot, drawing blood from another student is prohibited. That is the rule. You drew blood multiple times. From multiple students.”
“Let’s vote then.” Lake says.
I quickly look at Emris.
I look at him with everything I have….fear, shock, anger, vulnerability. I swear, every emotion I can possibly feel is written all over my face right now. I’m begging him with my eyes to Do something. Say something. Don’t let them do this to me.
Help me.
I didn’t want him here. I didn’t want him near Wolf Arts, near my classes but that was before this where I’m standing on a podium in a room full of professors who have decided my outcome and I cannot… I cannot go home with an expulsion. I cannot explain to my dad that I lasted almost one week.
I look at Emris again.
Please.
Is he going to help me or is he going to let this happen because part of him wants me home where it’s safe and predictable and I’m not in cities he can’t reach quickly and shifting for the first time in strange pack territories at ten at night-
“Honey.
Emris rises from his seat. Around the table, hands that were beginning to rise in alignment with Laura’s pauses.

Chapter 171
Can I speak to you before the vote?”
Honey looks at me first. Then she shakes her head like she’s annoyed.
She’s the other person in this room who knows that Emris is not a family friend or someone who kind of raised me. She knows exactly what he is to me and what I am to him.
Then she nods and Emris follows her through the side door.
Laura leans back in her chair.
She looks at me. I look back at her.
Blonde hair. Violet eyes….genuinely violet, not a trick of the light. High cheekbones that are not scared to scowl…it’s obvious that she’s powerful. So powerful that all the professors are just following what she’s deciding.
It’s also obvious that she’s more powerful that I’ll ever be which is why she looks at me that way-
