“Did you get my email? Oh moons, Demetra. It’s tough holding things down here at Metra Arts… didn’t you see the sponsorship email?” Lily’s face fills the screen.
I enter into my inbox and I see it. The subject line is bold, demanding and impossible to ignore.
But hey, I ignored it.
“I’ve seen it.”
“Oh, two seconds ago seen or last week ago seen? Cause that’s how long I sent it.”
“I’m sorry, Lily.” I pinch the bridge of my nose. “It’s been… it doesn’t even matter what it’s been.”
I read my eyes across the sponsorship. My eyes go over the very large number with zeroes stacked like building blocks, enough to fund an entire wing of Metra Arts for years and I’m dazed for a second. Who is this wealthy, rich investor?
“Name?” I ask.
“His name is Alpha Tyson.” I can hear the smile in Lily’s voice. “Alpha Tyson of the Weight Pack.”
“The pack that has literally taken over the boxing ring world?”
“Yes. That very one.”
“Demetra, we’re going?” I hear Tiffany say across the hallway, and I bite my finger for a moment, deciding how fast this conversation between Lily and I can go before I’m left behind to the hockey game.
“Moon, he’s hot.”
“Stop swooning over the clients, Lily.” I scroll down and look at the demands of the sponsorship. He’s hoping to have me teach a few classes, inspire the art students in his pack, and do one class one time a week within the space of two months.
“It’s a whole lot of money and we’re invited into various events. The Art Wars event…they want you as a judge. The Art Splash. The Wolf Picasso. And oh, the Alpha Fest.”
“Oh wow. The Alpha Fest.” I say, and Lily blinks up at me in the FaceTime, wondering why I said that with annoyance.
It’s because when I think of the Alpha Fest, there’s only one thing I can think about: Emris. You know what? It’s been busy at work. I’ve been spending my damn time thinking about how to help him, but like I said a time ago, I’m really done doing that. In fact, I’m taking it up the next notch. Since Emris is choosing Laura over me, it’s best we go through a divorce.
When I say that, my heart bangs. My fingers even stop working for a second, and I need my wolf to understand that our self- respect is so much more important. Yes, we’re gonna be hurt and no, I don’t think I can survive a bond break.
A bond break during pregnancy is not something I’d survive easily. So not divorce. I’m thinking we just have to separate. Emris and L.
Not a signed divorce and an intense bond breaking…just separation…
Even when I think that, my wolf is acting out again. But it’s necessary.
I’m tired of the pack matters. I want to take time to just think about my baby. I told Derisha from the very start that being Luna was something that was handed to me. I didn’t strive to be Emris’s Luna… he did everything to make me his. And if he’s forgotten the work he put into that, why the hell should I keep acting the position?

I’m first Amira’s mother. Now Milo’s mother too. Then my work at Metra Arts comes next. Over the course of the months Emris was missing, I put my blood and soul into taking care of the pack. So I guess he can continue from where I finished especially now that I’m pregnant.
Let’s see. For my peace of mind, isn’t it better that I just buy a house? Not the Black Covenant. Not the Lion Pride. Just my own house. Hmm. Not bad.
“Demetra.” Lily scrunches her face up. “You spaced out again.”
“Oh shit.” I shake myself. “Um, yeah. The wedding is tomorrow which is amazing so since it’s the weekend. Set up a meeting with Mr. Tyson’s assistant for Monday. I’ll be at the office.”
“Oh perfect.”
“Okay, bye!” I say quickly and exit out of the call before Amira and Milo come in here to do their big ones on the computer
I go into the closet to take one last look at myself. I’m wearing my favorite pair of jeans.
My ass looks too good in them and the jeans sit perfectly on my hips, which I can imagine are gonna get even wider than they used to be. This belly is still flat, but I know it won’t be for long, so I’m enjoying it while I can.
On top, I’ve got a fitted long–sleeve shirt because the air is a little chilly. Nothing fancy, just something that keeps me warm without looking frumpy.
My hair’s gotten long cause I haven’t cut it in months, and it’s now past my waist, right at my ass in waves of white and silver. I’ve pulled the front sections back into a soft plait and tucked a little dandelion in it because it looked cute. The rest hangs down my back, thick and a bit wild, curling at the ends.
I might have to get a blowout this week.
I take one last look at the pair of brown cashmere fur boot heels I have on, and I come out of the room.
When I get downstairs, everyone is there, discussing how many cars we’re going to have to use to get to the game. I see Dad taking the kids out the entrance, and I wonder where Emris is.
I follow the voices outside and the Lion Pride driveway is lined with at least ten gleaming vehicles.
My hips are rocking forward when Slade sees me.
“Oh, there’s my sister.”
As Slade is about to introduce me to whoever…it’s perhaps the guest he said he was expecting for the wedding. I notice Emris looking at me from.
The moment I clock it I look away.
“This is Alpha Tyson. Meet my little sister Demetra, Luna of the Black Covenant Pack.”
My eyes widen a little. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t he just the one that Lily said was interested in sponsoring us for major events and commercials?
I look at the guy and my brain just… blanks.
Tyson.
Believe me when I say Alpha Tyson looks like the universe spent extra time on him and felt no shame about it.
Very built figure, like a person who spends their whole life in a boxing ring. I see why he’s the Alpha of the Weight Pack.

His face is the kind that stops conversations…so defined it looks like it was chiselled by someone who took the assignment personally. His skin is rich warm tan. Nose is straight and his brow sits low giving him this permanent look of quiet intensity like he’s already three moves ahead of whatever is happening around him.
Then those eyes land on me.
Handsome. Like the very eyes of Poseidon, deep and sea–green…
His body is the final argument. Same height as Emris which means considerable. They’re in the same type of shirt too. snug revealing the lines of his abs immediately on his structure. Torso tapered, lines of his abs visible through fabric without hin trying even slightly.
Alpha Tyson’s eyes are really green…a shade I’ve never seen before, like emeralds caught in sunlight and forget myself for a moment, just staring.
“Wow.” His voice is deep and rich. “Is this the day I meet the queen of the covenants?” He gives me his hand for a handshake, and I take it. “A pleasure to meet you, Luna.”
The marrow in his voice is very manly yet very gentlemanly. Did he just call me queen… of Covenants? Instantly, I feel a swoop in my chest.
I think the girls are gonna love when I tell them about it later.
“Please call me Demetra, Alpha.” I smile. “I believe we are supposed to have met?”
I’m still holding his hand, realizing how warm they are especially because of how cold I feel right now.
“Metra Arts.” He says right after, and we let go of each other’s hands.
“You know my sister?” Slade raises an eyebrow.
“Come on, who doesn’t know your sister? We all saw her at the Alpha Fest.” Tyson puts his hand into his pocket, hasn’t removed his eyes from me, and smiles back at me with sparkling fanged white teeth. What type of wolf is he to have that without being in shift?
Did I mention his brows his slashed in two?
“My secretary has sent our proposal for a week now. Are we gonna to get a reply? Please reply us.” He jokes.
“I’m sorry, Alpha Tyson.” I tilt my head, matching his energy. “I promise we’re usually a team of flash heros. It’s really been a busy month, but I’m eager to let you know that we are back to work. I just had my assistant reach back to your team. Monday is the day.”
“And I guess I’ll be in your office at once. I’ll be cursed by the moon goddess if I missed it.”
He winks his eyes at me, and I chuckle again. He’s so good with his words and… moons, is he flirting right now? Emris is not where I’m standing, so of course he doesn’t see that.
“He’s coming with us to the hockey game.” Slade says.
“Oh, amazing.” I clap my hands together. “You know what? Why wait till Monday? We can ride in the same car and have a discussion about the initial proposal so on Monday, we’ll just sign papers.”
“I like that idea.” Tyson agrees with that deep voice.
“Right this way.” I gesture toward my car.
It becomes completely quiet between the boys when I say that like I just violated a large amount of decorum by telling Alpha Tyson, who I’ve never met before, to ride in the same car as me. It doesn’t matter. I don’t care. This is business, and

I’m very curious to know why he chose Metra Arts specifically, what his pack’s relationship with art actually is and his goals for the sponsorship.
We walk away together into the car, and he opens it for me to go first. I do. It shuts, and I wait for him to join after.
“Shall we, Luna?”
“Yes.” I cross my legs as he settles in beside me. After talking about some details pertaining to work along the drive for about fifteen minutes, I decide to feed my curiosity.
“How do you know Slade?”
“Same high school. Same with Emris actually.”
“Oh.” I keep the surprise off my face as I exhale.
Of course, Emris knows him. That wolf knows everyone in every room.
“Don’t tell me you two were in the same class.”
“We were. He’s never mentioned me?”
“Emris doesn’t discuss his friends. But I should know you. I’m embarrassed, cause my assistant tells me you are a world- renowned boxer. Your pack literally controls the entire combat sports industry
“You compliment me so well. Thank you.”
I can tell he’s looking at me as the driver moves too fast over a bump and I rock forward but Alpha Tyson’s hand lands at my midsection.
My belly…and pulls me back upright before I’ve processed what happened.
I look at his hand and where it landed.
“I apologize, Luna.” He removes it carefully. “Are you alright?”
