Chapter 183 Only Fighting You Actually Gets My Blood Pumping
With her head lowered, Thora carried her tray over to the woman who had just tried to get close to Darius.
“Ma’am, would you like some red wine?” she asks calmly.
The woman was still burning with embarrassment and anger, and she immediately ordered a glass when
she heard that.
Thora gave a polite nod and moved back into the crowd with her tray.
Not long after the woman drank the wine, tiny red rashes spread across her skin, itching so badly that she could not stop scratching.
Her evening dress was already revealing, and this only made her behavior more improper, so under the strange looks from everyone around her, she could only leave in shame.
Thora cast a glance at the woman as she left. She wasn’t even sure why she had done it.
She only knew that the woman’s behavior had annoyed her.
After all, in the eyes of the law, Darius was her bonded mate.
Trying to seduce him was no different from provoking her.
She pushed her cart forward to continue her search when someone suddenly grabbed her wrist.
A familiar voice rang out in her ear. “Are you looking for me?”
The instant her wrist was touched, Thora’s aura snapped tight, and she went on full alert.
She lifted her eyes and recognized the stranger in front of her at once.

The air around them crackled with the tension of old enemies meeting again.
“You leaked the news on purpose.” Thora’s voice held no doubt, only certainty.
A flash of admiration crossed Lance’s eyes. “I knew you would never disappoint me, kid.”
They kept their voices low, yet every word reached the other clearly, cutting out a small world from the noisy crowd around them.
To outsiders, it only looked like casual conversation.
“Why?” Thora couldn’t figure out why Lance had deliberately drawn her here.

Lance leaned in slowly, his handsome face moving closer and closer, his voice carrying a deadly danger. “Because only fighting you actually gets my blood pumping.”
Not far away, Darius, who had also locked onto Thora despite her disguise, saw the scene, and his expression darkened instantly.
“Damn it. Who is that man to dare get so close to our mate?” Lorcan roared furiously inside Darius’s mind, desperate to take control and teach that man a lesson.
Darius remembered where he was, but an almost solid Alpha pressure spread from him as he strode toward them.
Bang!
Suddenly, a gunshot tore through the peace of the banquet.
A bullet scraped past his shoe and slammed into the floor, sending up tiny chips of stone.
Women screamed, men shouted, and chaos exploded across the hall.
But Darius did not stop. He shifted smoothly to the side, avoiding any follow-up attack with clean, steady
