“Thora, what are you trying to do?! Today is your sister’s mating pact ceremony! Don’t forget that you walked out on us years ago. You’re no longer one of us.
“I’m letting you stay because of Hazel. But if you keep acting like this, get out. You’re not welcome here!”
His roar was loud and sharp, filled with disgust.
People who knew their messy family history weren’t surprised.
People who didn’t were baffled.
A family with such a young major general should have been proud. But Norman actually kicked her away.
Thora finally spoke, her voice cold and steady. “Sorry. I’m not here to celebrate the mating pact ceremony for the daughter of a homewrecker.” She slowly raised her eyes. The moment her gaze lifted, sharp as a blade, it made hearts skip.
Everyone knew exactly who she meant-Laurel.
“You rascal!” Laurel burst into tears on cue, playing the victim. “How can you say that? I’m still your mother! I may not have given birth to you, but I raised you!”
Norman’s face darkened with fury. Thora wasn’t just making a scene; she was humiliating him.
He finally lost it and growled, “Bastard! Get out!”
Thora let out a cold chuckle, lifted her hand, and snapped her fingers.
Tristan stepped forward at once. A fierce wave of werewolf pressure rolled off him, battle-hardened and full of authority. He turned toward the crowd and declared pudly, “Everyone, my boss has a family matter to handle. You have thirty seconds. I don’t want to see anyone still standing here.”

His chilling gaze swept over each person. He lifted one leg, rested it on a chair, and began counting without warning.
“One!”
“Two!”
Each number hit like a strike. The urgency grew with every count.
Tristan was a veteran who had survived more battles than most could imagine. Every count carried the weight of real danger. Every word made people grow nervous.
Several military officers immediately stood and hurried out.
No one wanted trouble with a special operations unit, especially not with their infamous commander.
As for the other guests? The moment Tristan’s voice echiped through the hall, panic swept the room, and they scrambled toward the exit.

Tristan spun a handgun between his fingers, flipping it through practiced tricks that looked both smooth and dangerous.
As the crowd hurried out of the hall, his grin widened, sharp and cold.
Both families were stunned.
Moments earlier, the place had been packed with guests. Now it was completely empty.
“30!” Tristan finished counting, glanced around the vacant hall, and nodded with satisfaction.
He dropped his foot from the chair, stood straight, tucked the gun into his waistband, and saluted Thora. “Report-no one left behind.”
Norman was already shaking with rage, veins bulging along his neck. “Thora, what are you trying to do?!”
Thora looked toward the Lawsons. They stared back at her, their expressions darkening by the second.
They didn’t hate her the way her family did, but right now, they looked just as upset.
Marcus stepped forward, voice tight with anger. “Thora, I know you weren’t happy that your ceremony got cancelled. But today is Caleb and your sister’s ceremony What exactly do you think you’re doing?”
If this had been years ago, he would’ve lectured her. But now? Thora was a major general and part of a special forces unit. Even if he wanted to scold her, he had to think twice about her power.
