Chapter 376 An Unexpected Assignment
Thora didn’t hesitate. “Command Institute.”

She had long since mapped out her own ability radar, as well as that of the people around her. The academy each of them was best suited for was already calculated in her mind. Her own abilities were well balanced, with command and decision-making standing out in particular. Naturally, she would aim for the highest institution in the academy.
Ashley, however, smiled in a rather odd way and leaned closer to her ear. “But as far as I know, the Command Institute has never accepted women.”
Thora’s clear eyes remained unruffled. The corners of her lips curved upward slightly. “Is that so?” Her tone was steady and assured. “Then I’ll be the first.”
Ashley studied her composed confidence, his brows lifting as the smile on his lips deepened.
“Roxen, tomorrow the freshmen get assigned to departments. Where do you think Number 230 will end up?” Mike asked as he ate.
Roxen smiled. “Take a guess.”
In his view, if Thora didn’t enter the Command Institute, it would be a waste of her talent.
“By the
way, is Number 230 a man or a woman? Looks like a guy, but after looking more closely today, I feel like she’s more likely a girl,” Mike added. He had assumed Thora was male at first, but the more he observed, the less obvious those masculine traits seemed.
Mike’s words made Roxen pause. “A girl?”
“Yeah.” Mike nodded.
Roxen frowned and shot him a strange look before laughing. “Have you gone crazy thinking
about women?”
It was not that Roxen looked down on women. Among the wolf clans, males of the same rank were typically stronger than females. That was an innate physiological difference.
And the Command Institute demanded the absolute peak of overall combat ability and decisiveness. For that reason, it had never recruited women. Much like the scientific evaluation of ability radar charts, this policy existed to minimize margin for error.
It was not unique to Blue Star Military Academy. Across most of the world’s high-level command systems, female figures were rare.
So in Roxen’s mind, it was impossible for Thora to be a woman.

What he never expected was that before long, reality would prove his words spectacularly
wrong.
After dinner, Thora and the others returned to their respective quarters.
Back in her small building, Thora opened her computer immediately.
The academy didn’t allow access to the external network, but the campus intranet was available at all times.
She logged into the internal system through the academy’s official site using her student credentials. The screen displayed the rankings of each department.
The most eye-catching list was the overall comprehensive strength ranking.
Department rankings reflected professional specialization, while the overall ranking required near-maxed values across every ability radar dimension.
Thora poured herself a glass of cooled water and took a sip. When her finger slid to the name ranked third overall, she paused slightly and murmured it aloud. “Roxen…”
་་
If her guess was correct, Roxen was the blond man from the game, and he was very likely the one who had quietly dealt with candidates who violated the rules by killing others on the deserted island.
