Chapter 524 Familiar Face

At the assessment site, Roxen, who had already arrived, suddenly sneezed.

He frowned, a bad feeling creeping into his heart. Was Thora talking trash about me behind my back?

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed.

Roxen walked into the surveillance hall. All members of the examiner panel immediately stood up straight and gave him a formal salute.

And Roxen himself was a legend at the academy. The title “Prince Roxen” was well earned. Not only was he handsome, but his strength was undeniable.

They had watched him walk into the academy from this very assessment two years ago. And now, in just two short years, he had risen to the position of chief examiner-technically their superior.

But if they were talking about true legends, there was someone even more impressive-the overall chief examiner for this year’s recruitment, Thora.

Last year, she

be a chief examiner.

Roxen snapped his legs together and returned the salute. After brief greetings, he quickly immersed himself in the recruitment

process.

This year’s freshman assessment followed the same content as previous years, but the format had changed.

Unlike last year’s three rounds, this year added more evaluation items. Each round was supervised individually by the top-ranked student from each institute.

With Roxen handling things ahead of time, Thora felt no pressure at all. After all, he could take care of everything. She didn’t need to worry.

Thora had always acknowledged Roxen’s ability.

The year before she enrolled, Roxen had entered the ac demy as the top scorer in the freshman assessment. His performance chart was nearly maxed out. Just two months after enrolling, his overall strength had surged to third in the entire academy. After that, he had consistently ranked first for a long time. Now, he had surpassed Tobias and firmly held second place overall.

If not for Thora, Roxen would be number one in the academy right now.

Their relationship was fairly good. Though their first meeting hadn’t gone smoothly, they had developed a genuine bond as classmates.

When Thora arrived at the assessment site, the freshmen had already completed two rounds.

She gave a polite nod of greeting, and they returned to their posts to continue working.

Roxen remained seated, reviewing surveillance footage Without even looking up, he handed her a stack of files. “This year’s freshman data summary. Only the first two rounds so far. They’re in the middle of the third.”

Thora stepped beside him, took the files, and skimmed through them.

“The overall quality of this year’s freshmen is better than last year’s. We could admit a few more. But in terms of truly outstanding talent? Not many,” Roxen said calmly. “Of course, I mean compared to how freakishly strong your class was.”

Thora raised a brow but didn’t respond. After scanning the files, she set them down and turned her attention to the surveillance screens.

Just like when they had taken the assessment themselves, the entire hall was covered with monitors. Blue light screens flickered across the room.

“Keep admissions according to the original plan. No expansion. Survival of the fittest,” Thora ordered coolly. Roxen nodded without objections.

“What about the things that shouldn’t be there? How’s the cleanup going?” Thora leaned forward, both hands braced on the desk, eyes fixed on the screens. There were so many images that it was dizzying, yet she could quickly memorize most of the freshmen’s faces and conditions.

Roxen smiled. “We’ve cleared out some already. The rest is harder to say. The academy planted a few undercover people among the freshmen this time. It’ll be easier to screen than last year.”

Suddenly, Thora’s gaze froze on one of the surveillance feeds. Her expression shifted instantly.

She tapped a control button on the screen. The image enlarged before her, filling her entire view with a familiar face.
