Once the difficulty increased, the elimination rate skyrocketed. The candidates’ complaints also surged.
On the surface, no one dared speak out. But privately, they were all cursing the examiners. Everyone could tell the difficulty was being deliberately escalated round after round.
Felix kept his head down and completed each test without a word. But internally, he was grumbling about the chief examiner just like the others.
The intentional sabotage was way too obvious. The later rounds weren’t exams anymore-they were survival challenges
But he had no choice. If he wanted to enter Blue Star Military Academy, he had to play by the rules and advance step by step.
Most applicants were strong-willed and competitive by nature.
The pent-up frustration finally exploded during a shooting assessment.
This round’s score would count toward the final total. But the problem was, everyone realized that the maximum score was practically unattainable-at least in their eyes.
For dynamic shooting, 100 balls would be dropped from a height of 160 feet. The gun contained exactly 100 bullets. To earn full marks, every single ball had to be hit.
For static shooting, 100 bullets had to be fired at a stationary target. To receive full marks, every shot had to hit the exact center, and the bullet holes had to overlap perfectly.
That kind of scoring standard was as ridiculous as asking a cub to defeat an Alpha.
“Number 23, hit 10 balls, 10 points.”
“Number 37, hit 8 balls, 6 points.”
Anyone scoring below 10
would barely count as
was eliminated on the spot. So far, the highest score had only reached 60, which
in a normal exam.

Negative emotions spread quickly among the candidate. The entire testing site felt suffocating. Felix frowned as he stared at the white balls scattering through the air, his eyes suddenly sharpening.
The moment the balls were released, the candidate under evaluation began firing. Felix’s gaze tracked th falling targets closely, trying to detect a pattern.
“For this kind of dynamic shooting, you have to factor i reload speed, the balls’ falling trajectory, gravitational acceleration, and even wind resistance…” Roxen commented as he watched the surveillance feed. “For freshmen, this is asking way too much.”
Under the original standards, the balls were dropped frn 300 feet, and hitting 80 or more counted as full marks.
But after Thora’s order, the difficulty had essentially doubled. For new applicants, it was indeed harsh.

Sitting back in her chair, Thora asked, “If it were you two years ago, could you have done it?”
Roxen answered without hesitation. “Yes.”
“Then the full-score standard is reasonable,” Thora said evenly. “If you could reach it two years ago, it’s not excessive to expect the same from them.”
There was something Roxen didn’t say aloud. He could probably do it, but not necessarily pass perfectly in one go. Unless someone had extraordinary sensitivity to shooting or possessed a special ability, achieving full marks under that standard was nearly impossible.
Even so, he understood the candidates’ mentality. But if they chose Blue Star follow its rules. Anyone unwilling to abide by the rules didn’t deserve to
Roxen smiled faintly as he continued watching the examinees, a hint of

amusement flickering in his eyes.
After a while, he realized Thora hadn’t spoken again. He glanced back at her and noticed her lips pressed into a thin line. Her expression was tense, like something was off.
Following her gaze toward the glowing projection screen, Roxen’s heart slowly sank.
