You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 952

“Uncle?”

That night, Mr. Padilla finally got the baby to sleep and handed her off to the night nanny. He had just collapsed onto the bed in the master bedroom when Atticus’s call came in, loud and angry.

“Where are you?”

“Cloud Peak,” he said, rubbing his forehead. Ever since the baby was born, he barely left the house. Coming home late was already a big deal. Where else could he possibly be? Patricia gave birth, but he was the one who felt trapped.

“Is Hector there?”

Oliver’s stomach dropped. So that was what this was really about.

“He doesn’t have any trips scheduled. He should still be in Riverdale.”

“He better be,” Atticus snapped. “I was in Golden Bay for a two-day conference, and you let them meet up again. I went to a meeting, not the grave. Either you call and tell him to get his ass home, or I’ll have someone send him straight to the afterlife.”

Atticus was fuming. He guarded Hector like he was a criminal. If Hector were just a thief, he’d only be after money. But Hector wanted to steal his daughter.

A guy with zero sense of responsibility dreaming about becoming his son-in-law? What a joke.

Oliver realized this was serious and quickly dialed Hector.

Hector picked up right away.

“Where are you? Are you with Chelsea?”

Hector was standing outside a hotel suite, hand raised to knock, and froze when he heard the question. “How did you know?”

“Her dad just called me, said he’s about to send you to the afterlife. Get out, now.”

“You’re warning me?”

“Take it however you want. Just go.”

If Hector got beat up, Oliver would have to deal with the mess. If he did nothing, Atticus would never let it go. He was stuck in the middle, and it was exhausting.

Chapter 952 2

“What if I get too strong and there’s no one to help me out?”

Patricia’s ears went red. She tried to wriggle out of his arms, but he saw right through her and pulled her even closer.

“Why are you running away?”

“I haven’t been avoiding you. You’re the one who…” She trailed off, embarrassed.

Chapter 952 3

She’d tried more than once to make a move, but he always resisted, choosing cold showers instead.

Now he was acting like it was her fault?

Oliver chuckled, his face buried in her shoulder, voice low and teasing. “How about tonight?”
