You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 953

Patricia gave his waist a playful squeeze. “Who does that…” she teased, half-laughing, half-scolding.

“Drink your soup first,” he told her.

“I don’t want it.”

Mr. Padilla knelt in front of her by the armchair. His hair, a little too stiff, tickled her skin. It made her feel like she was drowning, reaching out for something solid just to stay afloat.

She bit her lip, holding back, and whispered, “Sorry… just hurry up…”

He chuckled softly, eyes full of adoration. “Anything you say.”

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

Patricia’s heart nearly stopped. She scrambled for a blanket and pulled it over herself. Mr. Padilla braced himself against the sofa, veins popping on the back of his hand as he tried to keep it together.

At this hour, the only person who would knock was the nanny. And if the nanny was here, that could only mean one thing — something was up with the baby.

His voice was low and rough. “What’s wrong?”

The nanny hovered in the doorway, looking uncertain. “Sir, Hope…”

Oliver fell silent, frustration flickering in his eyes. He let out a long breath as he straightened his clothes. “Little debt collector’s at it again.”

“Look at what you’ve brought into the world,” he grumbled.

Patricia hid under the blanket, shoulders shaking with quiet laughter. The blanket trembled with her, not hiding anything at all.

Mr. Padilla shot her a glare, then yanked the blanket away and scooped her into his arms. “Still laughing? Taking pleasure in my misery? You’re coming with me.”

“I’m not going!”

“You are.”

“But I’m not even wearing—”

“Doesn’t matter,” he cut in, not giving her a chance to finish. He tugged her along to the nursery.

Chapter 953 1

He hummed quietly, his song wrapping around the room and settling deep in Patricia’s chest.

Chapter 953 2

She didn’t know if the baby was sleepy yet, but she sure was. She leaned against Oliver’s back, her pale fingers tugging at his shirt, her cheek pressed to his shoulder. She yawned.

“Sleepy?” he asked, voice low.

“Yeah…”

“Go to bed. I’ll be there soon.”

Chapter 953 3

“She’ll wake you up, though. You need your rest. Be good, I’ll be right there.”

“The baby’s almost asleep,” Patricia murmured, already drifting off.
