Daphne sat on the conch, replaying the butler’s words in her mind again and apalıt

She didn’t dare think any further. She could only hope her child would be sale. 

She still had one sitake egg, left as she had already lost the other.

Daphne felt even more guilty thinking about that. 

She blamed herself. It was her fault. It was her first time being a mother, yet she already had a rift with her child. She wasn’t a qualified mother at all

Just then Emma entered the room and couldn’t help but speakup, “Ms. Miller, please don’t be so upset, Colonel Lester is powerful. I believe he’ll bring your child back soon.” 

“I hope so,” Daphine said, still lost in sadness. 

Seeing her like this, Emma felt bad too, Daphne had always treated her kindly, and she wanted to help ease her worries. She could help with socow, but she wasn’t sure if Daple could handle it.

Daphne had tried drinking once before, when she did poorly on a test and her roommate took her out for drinks. It really had helped. The next day, she felt more at 

ease. 

She agreed to try it again. 

When the alcohol arrived, though, Dapluse panicked, 

She looked at the colorful bottles in front of her. “Are we sure these are drinks and not experimental potions?” 

“Ms. Miller, I went to the wine cellar to get them. They said fruit–based wine taste the best look one bottle of each kind. Would you like to try?” 

Emina poured Daphne a glass of wine. 

As Daphne sipped the bright red liquid, she recognized it as grape wine siglt away.
