When Joy arrived at the set of 'Our Youth', she was immediately called over by the director.

It seemed the director had his eye on Joy's physical appearance and with more than a decade worth of experience, Joy might actually become a brand new A-list celebrity.

Not to mention, he had received a phone call from the Jinn Group telling him to offer up the role of female extra three to Joy. The director was obviously very willing to do so.

Based on Joy's own qualities alone, it would not be unreasonable even if she was given a more important role than female extra two.

It seemed it was only a day ago that Joy came over to act as an extra and somehow got the backing of the Jinn Group the very next day. The director guessed that she might have her own connections to back her up. However, the director was already used to seeing similar scenarios play out before.

"You're Joy, right?"

Joy nodded and said, "Yeah."

The director said, "You’ll be playing the role of female extra five who is called 'Kelly Tames' so I want you to roughly skim through the script. I need you to also understand Kelly's character. We'll be shooting Kelly's scenes in two hours."

Joy was stunned and felt slightly surprised as she said, "Director, I…"

The director knew what she was about to ask before she could get her words out as he said, "You're really lucky since I received a phone call from the Jinn Group this morning and they wanted you to play the role of female extra five."

Joy replied, "... Thank you, director."

She turned around and wiped her sweat while holding onto her script.

'What luck? I literally suffered through last night.'

However, Shayne seemed a little stingy when he assigned the role of female extra five to her.

While Joy flipped through the script, she thought to herself, 'Is female extra five even in the script?'

Joy sat at a corner and it did not take long for her to finish reading through Kelly's parts. There were very few scenes for Kelly. However, Kelly's existence in the movie was extremely wholesome and she served as the voice of reason to solve the conflict between the male and female leads at the end of the film. Her role was very simple.

In summation, the male lead was childhood friends with Kelly. However, Kelly had moved overseas with her family after her SAT exams were over. Because of that, the male lead was left single and alone. When the male lead entered university afterward, he met the female lead and no longer had any feelings left for Kelly as he had completely buried his feelings for her in his heart.

However, it seemed that the admiration and friendship the male lead had for Kelly caused some sort of friction with the female lead and stirred up conflict. However, the conflict would only be resolved in three episodes. It did not take long for everything to be resolved.

Therefore, Joy had quite an easy job. Moreover, she had an incredible memory as well, so it did not take long for her to remember her lines. Since Kelly had a very straightforward personality, it was not hard for her to get everything right.

Joy began the shoot with the male lead, Hugh Boughner, after two hours.

After only a single blooper was made, everything else went by smoothly.

The director praised Joy after the shoot, "You've captured the raw emotion of those lines you recited earlier. Not bad, Joy."

The director never expected that Joy would be able to perform so well when she was only spontaneously given two hours to prepare for her role. Although her acting could use some work, she performed a lot more naturally and smoothly than other newbies.

After Joy was done with her scene, she sat down at a corner to take a break as she continued reading the script. However, Sugar arrived on set in a Mercedes.

The instant Sugar arrived on set, she told the director, "If I recalled correctly, director, I believe I have a kissing scene with the male lead to record today?"

"That's right. If there's no problem at all, we may begin the shoot in a brief moment."

Sugar immediately said, "No, no way! Of course I have a problem. Director, the company keeps assigning me to new and innocent actors to shoot my scenes with. I don't think it's appropriate for me to record any kissing scenes."

The director raised his brows and said, "There are plenty of budding actors that are also doing kissing scenes. This won't affect a person's image at all and besides, didn't you also have several kissing scenes with Ezekiel Zachary on your previous project?"

'Why are you even pretending to be so pure and innocent now?'

Sugar pouted her lips and exclaimed unreasonably, "That all happened in the past and besides, with my current reputation, do you even think it's appropriate for me to kiss a no-name actor?"

The director burst out laughing as he could clearly understand the hidden meaning behind her comment.

It seemed that it was not because Sugar was unwilling to record kissing scenes. Instead, it was all because Hugh was new in his acting career so he was not famous. On the other hand, Sugar had her own reputation to maintain and was unwilling to lower herself to shoot intimate scenes with a no-name male actor.

The director asked, "Who's going to record this scene if you're not willing to? If we were to cut this scene out, the audience will no doubt call us out for being unfaithful to the source material when the movie airs. The ratings will tank then. Don't you forget, Sugar, you're not only just acting for me, but you're also doing this for your own sake."

The director had nearly said, 'Your fame train has already left, Sugar. If you don't take this job seriously, you'll be irrelevant soon.'

While Sugar toyed with her fingernails, she spoke sinisterly, "Didn't you get a replacement for me when we previously did the freezer scene? Where's the body double anyway? Get her to act the scene for me then. I thought you said that she's much slimmer and fairer than me. Won't the audience enjoy it much more if she was the one doing the kissing scene rather than me?"

The director was boiling with rage when Sugar said that. However, he held back his boiling rage, gritted his teeth, and said, "This happens to be a high-quality camera and due to how much Joy stands out through the camera lens, the audience will immediately know it isn’t you."

Sugar was furious as she exclaimed, "Who the hell is she anyway? If she's so good, why don't you have her act as the female lead then!"

"I want that too!"

"You!"

After both parties were butting heads with each other for a really long while, the other crew members came over to ease the tension when they realized no work would be done if things continued.

"Director, I believe Miss Sugar isn't willing to shoot the scene and we’ll make no progress if we continue to argue. The scene still has to be recorded and not to mention, we’re on a tight deadline. Why don't we have the double try out the scene and we'll alter everything in post. If that doesn't work, we'll think of another solution afterward?"

After thinking about it, the director found that suggestion to be quite acceptable, so he called out for Joy and said, "Say, Joy, I want you to be in the same scene with Hugh later. You'll be acting out a kissing scene."

Joy was confused as she said, "But wasn't I supposed to play Kelly? If the audience finds out that Hugh is kissing Kelly, wouldn't this confuse them as well?"

The director said, "I want you to read through the script first to have the same emotion as Hugh. Give it a shot. We'll think of something if this doesn't work out."

In the Jinn Group.

Just as Shayne was about to head out to meet a client, Jake entered his office and said, "President Jinn, I received word from the staff members that Sugar was unwilling to act out a kissing scene and Miss Yanny was told to replace her."

Shayne was stunned as he asked, "And she agreed to it?"

Jake replied, "Miss Yanny trusts people way too easily and besides, no one knows about Miss Yanny's relationship with you. Therefore, she wasn't in a position to reject it…"

Shayne turned around and started walking toward the elevator.
