When Joy was about to get changed in the changing room after the shoot was done, she ran into Sugar.
Sugar gave a judgmental stare at her before coldly exclaiming with a scoff, "Don't think for a second that just because you have the looks, you'll be able to seduce the director and gain favor from him. No matter how much the director likes you, the best role you’ll be able to get from him is nothing more than 'female extra five.'"
After Joy was done changing, she smiled at him and said, "Have you ever done it yourself then, Miss Sugar?"
"You… What do you mean?"
Joy picked up her bag and strode out of the changing room as she simply said, "Well, you clearly understood how everything works, Miss Sugar."
"You!" As Sugar furiously glared at Joy's back, she gritted her teeth and exclaimed, "You're nothing more than a fool. Oh, there will be crying scenes for you later!"
Not long after Joy had left the set and just as she was about to call a cab, a limited edition Bentley pulled up in front of her.
The windows were slowly rolled down as Shayne said, "Get in."
Joy even looked around her surroundings to make sure there was no one present before she got in.
Her cautious behavior displeased Shayne.
Shayne mocked her when she entered the car, "You're not even famous in the entertainment industry yet so who would even bother to take pictures of you? Do you even think that the paparazzi is aware of your existence?"
"I obviously don't care about the paparazzi taking pictures of me. However, I was only worried about them capturing pictures of you, Shayne."
She was trying to show off just how 'thoughtful' of a person she was.
Shayne raised his brows and said, "Hmph, you sure are thoughtful."
Joy replied, "Of course. It's the least that I can do and besides, I’m your woman now, Shayne. I'd obviously think about you."
Shayne felt helpless.
However, as Shayne stared at her pure-looking smiling face, her face was actually incredibly beautiful but her pretentiousness disgusted Shayne.
Shayne scoffed and said, "Oh, you actually know who I am? Here I thought you didn't know me, Miss Yanny."
Joy's heart thumped.
It seemed she had somehow offended Shayne when she acted as if she did not know him?
Joy propped up her little face and stared at him with her dark beady eyes as she said, "Weren't you pointing at me and asking the director who I was earlier, Shayne?"
Shayne was speechless.
How bold could she be to talk back at him?
She maintained an innocent expression.
She was basically hinting at him, 'Look. I was just going with the flow according to how you react to things and now you're unhappy? I’m innocent.'
The man inched closer to her as he squeezed her chin with his long and slender fingers. He behaved a little harshly as he asked, "So you feel wronged?"
Joy blinked at him as she grabbed onto the man's arm before saying, "Oh, so much so that it's beyond your comprehension. I believe you need to take me out and treat me to a really amazing meal to make it up for it."
Shayne continued to stare at her. It felt as if he was grabbing onto a ball of cotton while his rage continued to boil. However, he frustratingly had no outlet to vent his anger out.
Shayne squeezed her chin harder as he inched closer to her with his dark and menacing gaze before saying, "Do you even have a bottom line, Joy?"
Joy cracked a huge smile at Shayne as she said, "Oh, you thought me a very valuable lesson before I even met you, Shayne."
Shayne was confused.
"I have no right to talk about my bottom line without money or power."
If she had a bottom line back then, she would never have become his secret lover at the moment.
Shayne tossed her chin away as he scoffed, "You’re quite the good student. My lessons have not gone to waste."
His voice sounded cold. He still seemed quite furious.
