Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1035

Yanny and Samantha walked together to the parking lot. Just when they were about to get into the car, Winson halted them.

Yanny was surprised when she heard Winson's voice, though she immediately remembered that he was there as Cara's parent.

"You've been away from home for more than a year, Yanny. Are you really planning to cut all ties with the family?"

Yanny smiled coldly and said, "You forced me to."

Winson did not like to see her sullen face. He grunted and said unhappily, "Since when have we forced you? Are you planning to hold that grudge for the rest of your life? No matter what you think, we're still family. Can't you…"

"Family?" Yanny sneered. "Since when have you treated me as part of the family? If you've ever cared for me, then you wouldn't have let that pervert President Lewis have his way with me. I was screaming for my life, but did you show any concern? Have you ever spared a thought that if he actually violated me, my life will be ruined? Don't use the word 'family' with me, Winson Jacob. You disgust me."

"You!"

Soon, Lina and Cara appeared from the academic building.

"Yanny, did you conspire with Samantha Jinn to bully me?" Cara was the first to complain.

Lina was shocked. She did not expect that her daughter was bullied at school and asked worriedly, "You were bullied, Cara?"

Cara pointed at Yanny. "Yanny must have connived with Samantha Jinn to bully me, Mom. She locked me in the toilet and threatened me!"

Winson was livid. "No matter what you think, Cara is your younger sister. How can you bully her like that?"

Yanny was not in the mood to explain herself. She turned around and prepared to open the car door.

She did not expect Winson to say, "It's fine if you want to cut ties with the Jacob family. I've given birth and raised you. Give me five million bucks and we'll call it even!"

Yanny put down her hand which was on the door handle.

Five million? Would a father ask five million from his daughter to sever all ties? Could there be another father as merciless as him?

"Five million? Should I thank you for all those years that you ignored me? Should I thank you for allowing Lina Luke to feed me stale bread? Should I thank you for matching me with an old man so that he can have an heir? How dare you ask money from me, Winson Jacob?"

Lina disagreed, "You can't say that, Yanny. If you married President Lewis back then, he promised that he would give us five million bucks, but you stabbed him. We had to pay him several hundred thousand bucks as compensation. We've already given you a discount by asking for only five million."

Yanny was disgusted by Lina's money-grubbing attitude. "Five million, right? Fine. I'll agree to it, but I can't pay you now. I don't have that much money on hand."

Lina goaded her, "Sure. Looks like you've struck it big seeing how easily you agreed to give five million.”

"Now that you've achieved your goal, get lost. I don't want to see you anymore."

Yanny's delicate face was illuminated with a fiery-red color by the setting sun, though her expression was as icy as the snow in the dead of winter.

Winson wanted to say something else, but Lina stopped him and dragged him away.

Yanny stood rooted next to the car. When she came to her senses, she realized that Samantha was missing.

"Samantha?"

Samantha sneakily slinked back to Yanny's side, feeling a little guilty for what she did. "I'm here, Yanny."

Yanny was feeling rather flustered. She forced a smile and said, "Get in the car. Let's go to a hotpot restaurant."

Yanny was distracted while driving. She nearly ran a red light, if not for Samantha who warned her.

"Are you really planning to give the Jacob five million bucks, Yanny?"

Yanny smiled blankly as her hands gripped the steering wheel and looked straight in front of her. "If giving them five million bucks means that I can escape from this rotten pit, I'd gladly do it."

"The Jacobs are too shameless, especially Cara Jacob's mom! Hmph, I've taught them a lesson earlier."

Yanny was surprised. She turned to look at Samantha sitting beside her. "What did you do?"

Samantha felt a little guilty. "Uh… I slashed their tires while they were extorting you for money."

Yanny did not respond. As she continued to drive, tears welled up in her eyes.

Samantha discreetly handed her a napkin. "Don't be sad, Yanny. You don't have to deal with them from now on. My big bro will protect you."

"I'm not sad."

No one had ever stood up for her like what Samantha did.
