Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1042

Shayne called Zander in the middle of the night.

“Why are you calling me in the middle of the night? Are you asking me out for a drink or you want to go pick up some girls?”

Shayne stood by the window as he was talking on the phone, “Neither. I’m calling you to tell you that I listed the house that I gave you for sale on the internet.”

Zander said, “Cough! What? You gave the house to me but you’re listing it for sale on the internet now? Shayne, that is very unkind of you!”

“Don’t you remember that I haven’t transferred the house to you yet? It’s basically not yours yet.”

Zander said, “Shayne, are you going bankrupt soon? If you’re really having a hard time, you can tell me. I can help you out.”

Shayne scolded him, “Bankrupt? Don’t curse me!”

“Why do you want to sell the house all of a sudden then?”

Shayne became serious at the mention of that. “By the way, I need your help tomorrow.”

“What?”

“Meet the customer who wants to buy the house.”

Zander was a smart guy. He felt that something fishy was going on. He smiled proudly since Shayne was asking for his help and asked, “Who is it?”

Shayne went straight to the point. “Just as you expected, it’s Yanny.”

“Well, why are you beating around the bush? Just come forward yourself if you want to buy her a house.”

Shayne thought to himself, ‘That girl is surely a confusing one. What exactly does she want from me?’

Zander recalled something and he said seriously, “Wait, she’ll recognize me if she sees me. I met her before and she knows that you’re my friend. Won’t you expose yourself then?”

Shayne scoffed and let out a cold hum. “She met you only once last year. You’re just a passer-by. Don’t worry, she won’t remember you.”

“What? How are you so sure? I have an outstanding appearance, so I’m sure she’ll remember me.”

Shayne mocked him, “Your a*s. She only had her eyes on me when we were in the room. She won’t remember either one of you.”

Zander laughed, “How do you know whether she looked at us or not? I remembered her looking at Old Fudd.”

“Stop talking nonsense. I would’ve kicked her out if she had the guts to look at other men.”

Zander’s chest heaved with laughter. He was amused. “I remember you putting up a show that day. You did not even bother to throw her a glance but you were actually keeping an eye on her and checking whether she was staring at other guys? You’re pretty good at hiding yourself.”

“F*ck off and don’t screw things up tomorrow.”

Shayne hung up after saying that.

Zander thought to himself, ‘Tsk, how can he behave that way when he’s asking other people for help? He’s acting like he’s the boss.’

It was in the afternoon the next morning. The real estate agent made an appointment with Yanny and the owner of the house to check out the property.

They agreed to meet at 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon.

Zander was driving leisurely toward the Blue Water Residential Area.

Yanny and the real estate agent arrived 10 minutes earlier and they waited for Zander for about half an hour.

Zander saw Yanny right away as soon as he exited his Maserati.

She was surely a true beauty. She could catch anybody’s attention at first sight simply by standing still.

Old Shayne had quite the lady’s luck.

Although there were a lot of pretty ladies out there, such a natural beauty like Yanny was rarely seen.

Zander approached them leisurely. He smiled at Yanny and the real estate agent as he greeted them, “I’m sorry, there was quite a bit of traffic on my way here. I hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long.”

The real estate agent knew that the owner of the house was a wealthy guy, so he dared not offend him. If they managed to close the deal, he would earn a fortune just by receiving the commission. He smiled and said, “It’s fine, Ms. Yanny and I just got here. Let’s go inside.”

Yanny did not say anything and the three of them got into the elevator.

Yanny and the real estate agent were standing in front while Zander leaned against the elevator cavalierly.

The walls of the elevator were made of glass. Yanny could not help but to notice the owner standing behind them. She thought he looked somewhat familiar.

Zander’s outstanding appearance was surely not one which could be easily forgotten.

However, Yanny could not recall his identity although she tried to think hard. She just thought he looked familiar.

The elevator arrived on the 13th floor. The real estate agent held the elevator door open and let the owner and buyer exit first. Then, he followed them from behind.

Zander introduced the house as they walked toward it, “This house was supposed to belong to a friend of mine, but his business failed and he could not afford to pay me. Hence, he transferred the house to me and now I’m the owner of this house. The property rights are clearly defined. Plus, I don’t stay here often. The interior design and settings are top-notch. I wanted to purchase a bigger mansion but I am lacking some money right now. That is why I decided to put this house on sale. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have sold it for nine million bucks even if someone threatened me with a knife considering the interior and the location.”

Zander sounded like a crosstalk performer. His explanation was flawless and it surely sounded convincing.

Zander opened the door and the three of them entered the house.
