Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1103

They slept with their backs facing each other that night.

Yanny was wide awake and was unable to fall asleep.

After Shayne tossed and turned in bed several times, he finally felt furious and helpless as he pulled her into his arms, embracing her tightly. They slept while embracing each other.

After remaining silent for a good long while as she laid on his chest, she finally decided to ask, "Will you miss me if I expand my career in the United States?"

The man bluntly replied, "I won't."

He sounded like he was feigning ignorance and was throwing a tantrum.

Yanny blinked several times as she slowly raised her head to look at his face under the dim light as she asked, "Will you come to visit me in the United States then?"

"No." His reply was firm and blunt.

"But I will miss you though."

Shayne closed his eyes and bluntly said, "Just bide then."

Yanny hugged him tightly and did not say anything else after that.

After all, she had made such a huge decision and it would be impossible for Shayne not to feel dissatisfied at all.

She could understand that.

She wanted to stand in his shoes to understand his point of view as well. However, it seemed that humans were often very selfish whenever they were deeply in love with someone. She could not help but ask, "Will you wait for me then, Shayne?"

Although two years was not as daunting or as cruel as a seven to ten years wait, it was still a really long time even in this technologically advanced era.

Not to mention that, Yanny was not even certain herself if she could make a name for herself in the United States or not.

They would be separated by an ocean and a continent. Although they would be surrounded by distractions that would keep themselves busy and even though those distractions would mean very little to Shayne, feelings of loneliness would still have to be vented out eventually. Thus, it would make sense for Shayne not to wait for her.

Yanny understood those points clearly.

However, she still selfishly hoped and wished that Shayne would actually wait for her.

Shayne replied with a very carefree tone, "I won't."

He would not miss her, would not visit her in America nor would he wait for her.

Everything he said was a lie as Shayne himself was not convinced that he would be able to bring himself to do any of that.

However, why should he tell her that he felt stagnated like a plane waiting for nothing at an airport?

He felt too ashamed to do so.

What would be more embarrassing for him was even though he felt no end to this stagnated feelings, he was still willing to wait for her.

The following morning was New Year's eve.

Since they had previously agreed to spend the New Year's eve alone together, the huge mansion felt empty. The entire atmosphere felt even colder after Yanny had made her choice to go to the United States.

The entire courtyard was covered in snow and it seemed that the initial lively atmosphere of New Year's eve had resigned into an eerie silence.

Yanny woke up at eight in the morning and made a hearty breakfast as usual.

Shayne had also woken up early but he remained in bed and refused to get up.

It was until Yanny came over to wake him up for breakfast that he went to wash himself up in complete silence.

The duo had breakfast in complete silence.

Daylight was short during winter and it did not take long for daylight to pass.

Yanny prepared quite the feast for all three meals throughout the entire day. Shayne was unable to find any faults with it.

However while they were having dinner and since Shayne was unable to vent his frustrations out, he deliberately tried to find fault with absolutely nothing. He stared at the plate of caramel ribs, raised his brows and complained, "Is sugar free to you or are you trying to make me diabetic?"
