Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1124

Yanny accompanied Shayne on this southern island in Massachusetts for about half a month.

It seemed like Yanny and Shayne went all out to make up for the gaps in their relationship for the past two years.

A lot of things happened to Shayne during the two years when Yanny was not around.

For example, Shayne was not a heavy smoker before this. However, he became a heavy smoker over the course of two years.

Yanny just found out about it.

Shayne kept coughing in the middle of the night yesterday after they went to bed. Yanny immediately brought him to a clinic in Grape Island for a checkup the next morning.

Both of them were up all night.

It turned out that Shayne had bronchitis. He was having problems with his throat as well.

The doctor suggested that he either quit smoking or cut down on how much he smoked.

Shayne was a wanton person and lacked self-control as well. However, he was still capable of restraining himself from becoming a chain smoker.

Yanny drove when they were on their way back. Shayne, the patient, sat in the passenger seat. Wearing a pair of sunglasses, he put his hands behind his head and leaned back as he enjoyed the island’s sunlight and sea breeze.

Yanny frowned slightly as she was somewhat annoyed by him being unconcerned about his own health. “Not bad, we didn’t meet for two years and you became a chain smoker. Why didn’t the cigarettes stain your teeth?”

Shaye turned to look at her and smiled at her teasingly. “Would you come back to me if I had ugly, yellow teeth? Of course, I went for regular treatments.”

“You smoke while getting teeth whitening treatments? Master Shayne, you’re quite good. You’re going to become as delicate as a woman.”

Shayne lifted his hand to caress her face. “I’m just joking. Why are you overanalyzing things?”

Yanny turned away slightly. She did not want him to misdirect her when she was trying to be serious. She said coldly, “The doctor said you have to quit smoking from today onward. Hand me your cigarettes and lighter. I don’t want to marry a chain smoker.”

Shayne smiled at her calmly and said stubbornly, “I can quit smoking but I’ve been too addicted to smoking for the past two years. Therefore, I think it’s too cruel for me to quit at once. Moreover, I might give up halfway and my addiction might become worse. Why don’t you think of a way to comfort me and divert my attention when I’m trying to kick the habit?”

“What about chewing gums?” Yanny thought with a frown.

However, Shayne approached her quickly and gave her a peck on the lips. The man was evil as the smile on his lips widened. “If you comfort me this way, I might be able to quit smoking. Let’s give it a try.”

“Shayne, I’m driving!” Yanny glared at him but her voice was soft.

Boyle leaned against the passenger seat, closing his eyes as he enjoyed bathing in the warm sunlight. He said in a relaxed yet proud manner, “I became a chain smoker because of you so you’re not allowed to despise me.”

Yanny glanced at him subconsciously. She felt guilty and explained, “I don’t despise you. I want you to quit because smoking too much is not good for your health. If you’re going to just smoke once in a while to pass time, I won’t force you to quit smoking. I would even give you the lighter. It’s not a bad thing to have a habit but if it’s affecting your health and body, you have to control yourself.”

Shayne laughed playfully. “I wouldn’t dare to continue if Mrs. Jinn wants me to quit.”

“I’m being serious right now.”

“I’m being serious as well, Ms. Jinn.” Shayne lifted one of her hands and kissed it.

Yanny parked the car in the yard as they arrived at Shayne’s mansion.

Shayne felt the urge to smoke as soon as he got out of the car. He reached for his pocket subconsciously.
