A high-class private hospital owned by the Jinn Group.
Shayne brought a drenched Yanny in and walked to the lobby of the operation theater.
A nurse anxiously approached Shayne and said, “President Shayne, Miss Jacob can barely hold on any longer! We have to give her blood immediately! The Rh blood type has been depleted in the blood bank!”
Winson Jacob knelt on the floor with a thud in front of Shayne, tears streaking down his face. “President Jinn, I beg of you to save Cara! Yanny and Cara are both blood-type Rh. Only you can persuade Yanny to donate some blood to Cara!”
Yanny looked at Winson kneeling on the floor without any emotions. This middle-aged man in front of her was Cara’s father, but it was as if he was never her father.
Winson then turned to plead with Yanny. He grabbed Yanny’s pants and cried, “Yanny, no matter what, Cara is your little sister. Just donate your blood once to save her! Your mother has passed away and I’m already so old. In the future, the only family you have left is your younger sister. You two sisters have to…”
Before Winson could finish talking, Yanny interrupted and reprimanded him, “You, shut up!
Winson jumped. Yanny’s face was colder than ice.
Yanny looked at Winson kneeling on the floor. She sneered, “Even if all of my family on this earth are dead, I will not call Cara my sister. Mister Jacob, to be clear, my mother only has one daughter. I am an only child. I do not have a sister. Also, you do not deserve to talk about my mother!”
Every word Yanny said was intent to attack. She completely crushed the pretense of fake family relationships.
In the operation theater, another nurse came rushing out, yelling, “The patient is losing blood fast! Do we have the Rh blood type yet?!”
Winson slowly stood up and said pleadingly, “Yanny, I have liver cirrhosis, so I cannot give your sister blood. You are still young. The doctor said we still have about 300 milliliters left to go. Could you…”
Lina, by the side, was pleading as well, “Yanny, I know you hate me but your mother’s death had nothing to do with me. It was fated, you…”
‘Haha, her mother’s death was fated. Such fate indeed.’
Slap!
Yanny furiously slapped Lina. She used up most of her energy in the slap. Lina was slapped and forced to stumble back half a step.
She clutched her red face, looking at Yanny in shock and fear.
Yanny was full of hostility. With reddened eyes, she cursed, “God will punish you one day! You will be run down by a car! Or struck by lightning!”
She was brought up with good manners, so even a calm person like her was completely pushed to the edge.
Yanny, from the start, did not look once at Winson. She lifted her head, straightened her back, and looked at Shayne coldly.
She pointed at the operating theater, looking at Shayne as she asked, “Shayne, you want my blood to save Cara, only then would you be willing to let it go, is that it?”
“Yes.”
If she did not save Cara, Yanny would never be able to look him directly in the eye for the rest of her life, or to even spend it with him.
What is more is that she would not be able to erase the guilt of her betrayal toward him.
The two of them owing each other was to offset the guilt.
Yanny’s guilt and her inner demons will ruin her in the end. It would also ruin him. This relationship would not be equal.
However, at that moment, he and Yanny were on equal terms, because they both owed each other. They both loathed each other.
The guilt she had for him would be a hindrance to them from forgiving each other. In the long run, they would both hate each other. One would be more and more guilty, and the other one would be more emboldened to use the other's guilt to keep hurting. It would be the sword that killed them both. There would be a wedge by the name of Samuel Lane in between them forever.
However, loathing, as long as she held onto it tightly, sooner or later, one day, she would be willing to make it up to him. It might take a long time, but it was never too late.
Yanny’s pale lips curled upward. She smiled. “Sign the divorce papers, then I’ll donate my blood and save Cara.”
Shayne’s deep, sharp eyes looked at Yanny coldly who still looked stunning even when she was mad. He did not lift his gaze at her. He yelled for his assistant, “Henry!”
Henry was hesitant. “Master Shayne, this…”
‘Divorce was such a huge matter. Shouldn’t they take some time to think about it? Moreover, it was clearly a misunderstanding between Master Shayne and Yanny.’
Shayne was still looking at Yanny, but he reprimanded Henry coldly, “The divorce papers!”
Henry slowly took out two sets of divorce papers from his briefcase. He passed them over, trembling. “Master Shayne, do you want to…”
Reconsider.
Before Henry could finish saying, Shayne already stretched his arms out and snatched the two divorce papers and a black pen. He signed flamboyantly and arrogantly on both the papers.
The pen poked through the paper.
The tip of the pen almost tore through the A4 paper.
Veins popped out on the back of his slender hands.
When Shayne finished signing, he passed the divorce papers right in front of her. With cold and sharp eyes, he said, “Are you happy?”
Yanny looked at him and smiled. She gritted her trembling teeth and tried hard to force a smile.
She said, “Yes.”
Yanny clutched the two sets of divorce papers, turned around, and followed the nurse to get her blood tested in strides.
The moment she turned, the tears she held back fell from the corner of her eyes.
