The wedding was originally scheduled for the end of March when the grass grew and spring flowers bloomed.
Shayne’s decision to have a wedding with Yanny still did not change. He had chosen and decided on every single detail in the wedding.
All that was missing was a wedding gown.
He had burnt the previous gown. At that moment, the remains of that gown were still in the building that Yanny was in.
Shayne had decided to fly to France once more.
Before he flew, Cindy came over once more, wanting to see Yanny.
Shayne did not stop her. He let Cindy visit Yanny. He wanted Yanny to be in a good mood.
The warm spring sun shone into the building, lighting the entire place up.
Yanny had calmed down. She picked up the knife to peel apples for Cindy.
Cindy took away the knife in her hand, grabbed her hands, and asked, “Yanny, are you still going to have the wedding with Shayne?”
Yanny shook her head. She said, “I will get a divorce sooner or later. I loathe him so much, so why would I…”
Yanny smiled mockingly.
Cindy cautiously glanced outside the building. Noticing that no one was watching, she approached Yanny and softly asked, “Yanny, do you want to leave?”
Yanny’s eyes flashed a dimmed light as she said, “Yes.”
“I came up with a way together with Samuel. We can cover up and we could let you leave Shayne forever.”
Leaving Shayne forever.
This condition was extremely attractive to Yanny at the moment.
…
The night before flying to France, Shayne came to the building again.
Night had fallen, and the building was warmly lit.
When Shayne arrived, Yanny was sitting on the sofa, reading.
As she was stuck in this small building, Shayne was afraid that she might get too bored. Hence, he got the servants to send over many things that could pass time, such as magazines.
When Yanny was in university, she was always filming. On the film set, she only read scripts. She barely had the energy to read other books. At that moment, being able to spend some time quietly reading was also nice.
When Shayne entered, he witnessed a sweet and warm scene.
His wife was holding a book, sitting under a warmly lit corner of the sofa, reading quietly. His eyes and expressions were at peace.
For a split second, Shayne felt that the previous struggles were not important at all. All for this scene before his eyes, no matter how many hardships he had to go through, it was all worth it.
No matter how tragic the past was, it was alright. When he came back, they would have the wedding. Then, he could watch her read quietly in the corner of the sofa for the rest of his life.
As he thought, Shayne’s eyes turned tender. His eyes were filled with subconscious affection and fondness.
He silently watched her for a long time, then Yanny turned her head to look at him.
Only then did Shayne walk over. He closed the door and pretended that nothing had happened. He said, “I’m going to France tomorrow morning. I’ll be back the day after tomorrow, night. I came over just to tell you this. Also, wait for me till I get back.”
Yanny stayed silent, but her eyes were not sharp. Perhaps she had been locked up for too long. She was tired and exhausted, so she gave in.
Shayne, after all, was still greedy. He wanted more from her even if it was just a little response.
He pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead domineeringly, as he sighed and said, “Yanny, would it be so hard for you to just say okay? Hmm?”
Yanny lifted her head, she looked at him coldly and said, “Okay.”
She would wait for him to get back.
Shayne looked at her a little stunned. There was a little excitement deep in his eyes. After many days of treating him like ice, it finally broke a little. Even if she just muttered okay, Shayne was more than satisfied.
The days and nights to come were still long. Their relationship would get better bit by bit, right?
Perhaps he had been upset for too long that a little pebble dropping into a calm lake would also cause a ripple. It was enough to make Shayne elated.
A person being upset for too long, even a little happiness would be endlessly magnified.
Shayne grabbed Yanny’s neck and kissed her. Their lips intertwined. Even if Yanny did not refuse, Shayne did not dare kiss too deep. His lips were to part with hers when Yanny went closer to him.
Yanny kissed him.
Shayne’s body was tense. Other than being surprised, he was even more shocked.
His happiness was through the roof. Shayne did not think of anything else. He only hugged the person in front of him tightly and kissed her deeper.
Their warmly lit shadows were entangled with each other. They turned around and fell onto the soft bed together.
Shayne thought that this was the start of the ice-breaking between them.
However, he did not know that he was like the bird flying north, whereas Yanny was like the fish going south, deeper underwater, and not returning back.
From then onwards, the bird and the fish parted ways.
…
The morning sunlight entered the building, lighting the entire place up snugly.
When Shayne woke up, Yanny was still in his arms, quietly sleeping.
The diamond ring on her ring finger refracted the sunlight. It looked extremely good on her finger.
Shayne picked her hand up and kissed her fingers and ring respectively.
Before he left, he kissed her forehead again.
When he returned, there would be no Samuel or Cara between them, nor would there be those messy affairs.
Whatever she wanted to do, he would let her.
“Yanny, wait for me to come back.”
Yanny kept her eyes closed. She did not open her eyes. She only buried herself into the covers and pretended to be asleep.
However, under the covers, her eyes were wet, after all.
