Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 1159

A meeting between old friends would either be with strong emotions or pretending not to know each other.

Meeting Shayne there, Yanny had no intentions of running away.

Shayne did not say much but looked at Yanny and Hajar, saying, “I’ll send you both home.”

Yanny wrapped one arm around Hajar and held onto a few other reference books that she had just purchased with her other arm. She said calmly, “No need. I drove here.”

She would not even let him have the chance to send her back.

Shayne understood just how much she hated him, how much she did not want to see him.

Yanny looked straight at him and said to his face, “However, since we’ve met, we can make an appointment for a trip to the Department of Civil Affairs. We’re both public figures where a divorce litigation would cause quite a commotion. It would also make us look bad. Since we did not carry out the wedding ceremony in the past, we can just treat it as if it never happened. Keeping the divorce a secret is the best solution.”

She remained cool and rational, as though having no feelings for him at all. The way she talked about the divorce sounded as though it was a debate where she was fully in control of the flow of conversation and analyzed all the pros and cons clearly, leaving no room for him to respond.

However, how could Shayne treat their wedding as though nothing had happened that easily?

After all those conflicts and his obsession, Shayne did not wish to let it go just like that.

“It’s too troublesome to have a divorce and there's a lot of asset redistribution that needs to be done. I’ll have my lawyer—”

Shayne randomly gave an excuse but before he could finish, Yanny cut him off coldly, “No need. When we registered our marriage, we did not merge our assets. Your assets will remain as yours. I don’t want them. If you want to sue me over the adulteration charge and need me to repay the debt, I have nothing to say as I was the one in the wrong for that matter. Therefore, I’ll own up to it. Please name your price, Master Shayne.”

Shayne stared at her cold, heartless face. However, he could not bring himself to harbor any hatred for her.

Her turning into that was all because of him. That was something he would have to live with.

The atmosphere remained tense between them both.

Shayne finally let out a long sigh, then took a step back. The edge of his lips twitched as he tried to say in the gentlest tone possible, “Even if we don’t split our assets, you still have a whole lot of things to discuss with me over the divorce. Come, I’ll send you back. It’s too inconvenient to discuss such matters. I know that you’re trying not to see me but if you want the divorce, you’ll have to see me anyway. Why don’t we take this chance to send you home and talk about it in the car?”

Having it put that way, Yanny had no reason to reject and agreed to it.

Hajar climbed into the backseat and Yanny tried to follow along. However, Shayne had the door to the co-driver seat opened for her. He frowned and said with a solemn expression, “Sit in front for the discussion. Moreover, I’m not your driver.”

His tone was strong, leaving no room for discussion.

She knew that Shayne had always been prideful. Earlier, it was just him suppressing his temper and trying to be on his best behavior. For someone with such a strong, animalistic instinct like him, it would be difficult to change his nature. Shayne was never an easy person to deal with.

Yanny ground her teeth and reluctantly got into the co-driver seat.

The black Rolls-Royce Phantom drove steadily on the road, going at a much slower speed than usual.

Shayne looked at her thoughtfully, then at the foreign child at the back. His lips curled downward and asked, “This child is not yours with another foreign man, right?”

Yanny was speechless as her emotions were being sent through a roller coaster ride from those words. She suppressed her anger and responded, “So what if that’s the case?”

The edge of Shayne’s eyes showed the hint of a smile. “If that’s the case, then you won’t be able to afford our divorce. Do you know how serious the crime is to commit adultery and bear another man’s child?”

Yanny stared at him angrily but when she caught the hint of a smile in his eyes, she realized that he was only teasing her.

Yanny suppressed her anger and then swallowed before asking, “Just what are you planning?”

Shayne responded without answering her question, “Did you adopt this child?”

“What does that have to do with you?”

“He seems quite healthy but I can tell with a glance that he’s unrelated to you. What’s the point of lying to me?”

Yanny clenched her fists, unable to hold back any longer. “Shayne Jinn, just state it clearly. How much compensation do you need for the divorce.”
