The publishing rights manager made a quick scan through the list and said, “Boss, there’s news this morning that the copyrights of Young Man’s Journey were purchased by the Jinn Group’s publisher.”

Yanny was caught off-guard. She did not expect the Jinn Group to respond so quickly. She frowned and said, “Then we need to be faster. Go contact the other copyrights owner immediately. I’ll contact Perusal Group’s Director Hayes.”

Yanny made a call to Perusal Group’s Director Hayes as she made her way to her office. Once the call went through, she greeted politely, “Director Hayes, I’m Lynn Frank from Move Media. Do you still remember our previous discussion regarding a collaboration between us on a batch of trending novel titles?”

On the other end of the call, Director Hayes coughed lightly, seemingly trying to hide something in his speech as he said, “I’m sorry, but the copyrights to the trending book titles under our company have all been sold to the Jinn Group. Director Frank, you’re just a little too late.”

Yanny gritted her teeth but maintained a calm expression, replying, “It’s ok, Director Hayes. The deal might be off but our relationship remains. I hope that we can work together in the future.”

She was met with a busy signal.
