It was still early and not yet lunch time.
Heaton took a seat on the side of the sofa, watching the children playing around with adult Lego sets, occasionally giving them some pointers.
After some assembly, Little Jelly Bean ran over to sit on Heaton’s lap. She lazily pushed the Lego into his hands, asking him to help assemble it.
“Daddy, my hand hurts. Help me assemble this bag of Lego!”
Heaton smiled dotingly. “You’re the one that wanted to assemble the Lego, so is it just a passing interest that you gave up after a few bags?
“What does passing interest mean?”
“It means you lose interest very quickly.” Although Heaton said that, he still took over the portion that Little Jelly Bean was assembling and continued its assembly.
Little Jelly Bean blinked, then snickered, “Daddy, this is not a passing interest for me!”
Heaton laughed out of amusement for his little lover, overjoyed from her wooing. “You must’ve had too much strawberry cake today to be such a sweet talker. Out with it. What do you want daddy to get you this time?”
Little Jelly Bean covered her little mouth, then blurted happily with her eyes in a half moon shape from smiling, “Daddy, I want a scope to look at the stars.”
Ah, that would be a telescope.
“Sure. Let’s buy one.” Heaton agreed readily.
“Daddy, when are we going?”
Heaton replied while he assembled Little Jelly Bean’s Lego in his hand, “After lunch. This afternoon, I’ll bring you over to a specialty store to check it out. You pick one yourself.”
Little Jelly Bean hugged Heaton around the neck and gave her father a kiss on the cheek. “Thank you, Daddy!”
Yanny watched the heartwarming scene, then told Verian with a smile, “Old Fudd sure pampers the children, buying anything Little Jelly Bean wants.”
Verian replied, “Yeah, children are like little angels, making us want to provide the best for them. When you and Shayne have children, you’ll be willing to give them anything that’s good. Oh, how are you and Shayne doing recently?”
“We have agreed to just be normal friends for now. As for the future, there’s still time, so there is no need to rush.”
At first Heaton did not chat with them, but when he heard Yanny mention that there was still time, he could not help but tease, “You sure have the patience to wait. Do you think Shayne will let you take your own sweet time?”
The moment Heaton finished his sentence, the roaring sound of a car engine could be heard coming from Shallow Bay Mansion’s yard.
Heaton put on a gossipy expression and said, “Speak of the devil. See, I told you. The day that this guy has patience will be the day pigs can fly.”
Shayne stretched his long legs out of a silver colored Bugatti.
Within the mansion, Verian leaned in closer to Yanny and said with a smile, “Someone’s eager to eat it while it’s hot.”
Yanny raised her brows. “Nine out of ten that eat hot food will burn themselves.”
Heaton moved Little Jelly Bean off his lap and stood up, announcing, “Everyone’s here. Let’s eat!”
The two children raised their hands in unity and said they were hungry.
Verian responded, “I’ll go tell the chef in the kitchen to start serving.”
Yanny took the two children to wash their hands.
Shayne immediately looked for Yanny the moment he entered the mansion. He saw her next to the sink squeezing soap for the two children and helping them roll up their sleeves.
Little Jelly Bean gave Yanny an absolutely adorable smile, just like they were mother and daughter. She even blinked her huge puppy eyes at Yanny, saying, “Aunt Yanny, can you come over to play more in the future? I know you’re very good at the piano. I’m also learning piano. Can we play together in the future?”
“Of course. Little Jelly Bean is so amazing. You know how to play the piano at seven?”
Little Jelly Bean lifted her chin proudly and said, “My teacher said that I’m the most talented child she had seen. Maybe I’ll be a pianist in the future. Aunt Yanny, you might even ask me for my autograph in the future!”
