One day, Shayne brought Yanny to a games room to unwind.
During the time that she had to stay at home to rest, Yanny had put aside all of her work. Aside from working out with Shayne, Yanny was almost bored to death staying at home.
The Heaton’s family, Wilson’s family, and the forever-single-Lucas were all invited.
Rodney was not able to join them as he was on a date with his girlfriend.
It was a card-game gathering between the families.
The ladies had fun between themselves while the guys played cards among themselves.
Both Verian and Serene had not tried playing board games. They were also too young to understand the rules.
Yanny played with the ladies for nearly two hours.
The adults were tired of playing. With her small hands hitting the table, Little Jelly Bean pleaded. “I still want to play! Little Pickle, Lucas Jarret, let’s play another round, shall we?”
Though young, the two little boys were full of spirit and smart.
Little Pickle replied, “Why not? However, don’t you cry if you lose!”
Little Jelly Bean whined, “I am already seven years old now so I won’t cry that easily. However, you are only three, so you can’t possibly win me.”
Lucas chimed in, “Jelly Bean is a crybaby. Let her have her way this time, Harrison. If not, Uncle Heaton will lecture us if we make her cry!”
Little Pickle then replied, “Alright, alright, I will think about going easy on you.”
Little Jelly Bean retorted, “I don’t need you to go easy on me! I will win because I am capable!”
The exchange among the kids caused laughter among the adults.
The subject of conversation was suddenly switched to being about the children.
Serene asked casually, “Yanny, when are you and Shayne planning to have a child?”
Yanny was slightly taken aback. She did not think that they would be having this conversation now. Hence, at that moment, she could not come up with an answer.
Both Verian and Serene were clueless about Yanny’s current health situation.
Yanny was not sure how to explain her situation to them.
Suddenly, Shayne walked over from where he was playing cards, and insisted to Yanny. “Come sit by my side. I couldn’t focus and kept losing the game because you weren’t by my side.”
After excusing herself from both Verian and Serene, Yanny stood up and sat next to Shayne.
Yanny had a routine of an old person. By ten o’clock, she was already feeling sleepy.
She fell asleep leaning on Shayne’s shoulder.
Shayne put down the cards and said, “I’ll stop for now. I have to head back to sleep.”
Pushing the cards, Lucas accused, “What? That’s not cool. You’re under the thumb of your wife!”
Shayne replied nonchalantly, “I have always been a henpecked husband.”
Shayne then carried the fast asleep Yanny and left the game room.
In the car, Yanny was awake and was feeling a bit disorientated. “Why didn’t you carry on with the game?”
Leaning over, Shayne buckled her seatbelts and kissed her gently. “How could I carry on playing when you were sleeping so soundly by my side.”
“It doesn’t matter if I was asleep, you could have continued.”
“My wife’s sleep is more important than card games. Let’s go home and get some rest.”
Staring at his handsome side profile, Yanny reached out and held his hands. She stared at Shayne and asked, “Why did you ask me to sit next to you just now?”
