It was in the president’s office in Fudd’s building.
Kush touched his nose and curiously asked after Heaton hung up, “Boss, do you really trust Miss Mont enough to leave Little Jelly Bean with her? Although the birth of Little Jelly Bean was a well-kept secret throughout the past three years, there were still a lot of people who threatened to kidnap Little Jelly Bean.”
The man sat on his black executive chair calmly. He rested his hands on the table, bony fingers interlaced. Darkness flashed across his eyes as he said, “I want to take this opportunity to find out her purpose is. Is she doing it for money, or is she really clueless?”
…
Little Jelly Bean was full after eating in KFC. Her little tummy bulged and she let out a burp.
Verian grabbed a tissue and wiped the corner of her lips. “You’re full? Should we go now?”
Verian’s phone rang as she was about to get up. The caller ID showed Heaton Fudd.
She picked up the call. The man’s voice was clear and magnetic. It was extremely pleasant to the ears.
“Where are you guys?”
Verian looked around and said, “We are at the KFC next to the departmental store.”
The man replied indifferently, “I’ll be right there.”
Verian hung up the phone and said, “Jelly Bean, your daddy is coming now. Let’s wait for him outside.”
The little munchkin kept quiet and her sparkling eyes were still staring at the coke in front of her. Verian looked at the coke and asked with a smile, “You still want to drink the coke?”
As the kid’s meal only provided nine lives juice, she really wanted to have coke.
She put her tiny hands on the table and rested her chin on her hands. She pouted her lips and said unhappily, “Daddy will never allow me to drink coke. I just want to taste it. Mingus said coke is very tasty.”
Verian chuckled. ‘Why did Heaton not allow his daughter to eat so much food? Although it is unhealthy, he could at least let her try one bite, right?’
“You sit here and wait for me then. I’ll go get you another cup.”
Verian glanced over at the little munchkin as she was queuing up. She was afraid that the little munchkin would be kidnapped by human traffickers. The little munchkin jumped off her seat excitedly when Verian came back with the coke. “Monty, you’re so nice to me!”
Verian handed her the coke and said, “You can’t drink too much, alright? You had a lot of food already and you will fall sick if you drink too much coke.”
“Yes, I will only take a sip.”
Holding Little Jelly Bean’s hand, they walked out from KFC. Not long after, a Range Rover pulled up in front of them.
The passenger door opened as a young woman carrying a Chanel bag came out. Verian lifted her head. The woman was none other than her stepmother’s daughter, Wanelle Sheen.
“I didn’t expect to meet you here. I was shocked when Jensen told me you’re back. What happened? You couldn’t survive the outside world so you came back to North City?”
Wanelle touched the diamond on her ring finger on purpose as she provoked Verian. “Jensen proposed to me a few days ago and our wedding is next month.”
Jensen came out from the car and held Wanelle’s shoulder. “Verian, I hope you can attend our wedding. After all, you are Wanelle’s sister.”
