Passionate Devotion: Master Fudd's Beloved Wife novel Chapter 139

Upon arrival at the hospital, Heaton Fudd was sent directly to the operating theater.

The doctor came out and asked Verian Mont, “Are you Heaton Fudd’s family member?”

“No…”

“The patient needs an immediate operation right now. Since you’re not family, then please make a phone call to ask one of his family members to come here!”

Verian Mont was worried that Heaton Fudd’s injury would worsen if they had to wait, thus she said firmly, “I am!”

The doctor was displeased and frowned. “Are you or are you not? You can’t sign the consent form if you’re not his family member!”

“I am. He’s my husband, I was just having a fight with him and I’m still emotional.”

She felt more and more sheepish towards the end of her statement.

What husband?! Heaton Fudd was not even her husband!

As soon as Verian Mont signed the paper, the doctor angrily snatched the document away and scolded, “You still have time to fight when your husband is half dead? You are truly one of a kind!”

Verian Mont bit down on her lips and sat on the bench outside the operation theater. She was still wearing pajamas and slippers as she did not even have time to change to proper shoes and clothes.

Who was Heaton Fudd to her that she was more concerned about him than his family?

Verian Mont lowered her face. She regretted that she was not heartless enough but on the other hand, she was worried for Heaton Fudd, who was in the operating theater.

She waited outside for roughly three hours. As she was about to fall asleep on the cold bench, the doors opened.

The doctor who performed the operation on Heaton Fudd took off his face mask and walked out of the theater.

Verian Mont’s sleepiness vanished immediately. Agitatedly, she went up to ask, “Doctor, how is he? Is he alright?”

“His brain hemorrhage isn’t serious as he only suffered a minor concussion. The most serious injury was his right arm, but it has already been treated. All that’s left is a good rest. There won’t be any side effects. As for his fracture, it will require a hundred days of quiet rest.”

Verian Mont felt relieved. Her heartstrings finally relaxed. “Okay. Thank you, doctor.”

After the doctor left, she hugged her arms and sneezed. She seemed to have caught a cold when she was sleeping in the hallway.

Heaton Fudd was most probably not awake yet. Since he was doing fine, she did not feel like hanging around.

She held her cell phone and hesitated for a long moment before she made a call to Nancy Xander.

Nancy’s sleepy voice answered. It seemed like she was asleep. Her voice was a little hazy as she said, “What?”

“Heaton Fudd broke his arm and he was taken to the hospital. He just left the operation theater. Come and take care of him.”

Immediately, Nancy was fully awake. She raised her tone and said, “Say what? Heaton broke his arm?” Still holding the phone with one hand, she already got out of bed and started dressing.

Verian Mont said calmly, “Uh huh, just come over quickly. He’s at the People’s General Hospital.”

After Nancy Xander hung up, she finished getting dressed and ran downstairs to the courtyard to drive to the hospital. However, she felt something was not right.

If Heaton was injured, why did Verian Mont not take the opportunity to take care of him by herself to improve their relationship? Why did she ask her to take care of him instead?

Would she not get jealous if she went?

Her behavior was strange. Absolutely strange.

Verian Mont waited until Nancy Xander arrived at the hospital before leaving.

“Go ahead, Heaton’s in this room.”

Nancy was extremely surprised. “Why are you so generous to leave Heaton with me?”

Verian Mont said coldly, “I don’t care what you think, but nothing more will happen between Heaton Fudd and I. Since you like him, then you should go ahead and fight for it.”

After she spoke, Verian Mont turned around and left the hospital.
