Verian recalled when Heaton found out she was on the pill, he had grown insanely furious and left her at the Blue Bay Mansion. This showed Heaton had not tampered with her medicine or else, he would not have reacted so furiously.
“Impossible, he had no idea I was previously on the pill.”
The doctor then gave it some more thought and said, “Then, after you’ve taken the medicine, have you eaten anything else? Grapefruits have been in the market recently and just a few days ago, a pregnant lady came by telling me that she washed the medicine down with grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice just so happens to have the effect of lowering the effectiveness of contraceptive pills and that she had actually gotten pregnant. Think about it, what did you immediately eat after taking the pills?”
Grapefruit juice…
Verian’s eyes trembled slightly.
She recalled that every time she had done the deed, Little Jelly Bean would give her some grapefruit juice to drink so she had drunk plenty of it…
She was in complete shambles when she exited the hospital.
She touched her tiny, flat belly while looking down…
Could she truly have Heaton’s child in here?
This child came at such a bad time.
Her main purpose of being on the pill after doing the deed was because she was afraid of getting pregnant with Heaton’s child.
Sometimes, however, the more one feared something happening, the more likely it would occur.
The phone in her bag rang and the caller ID showed it was from an unknown number. It was a local number from North City. Verian had no idea who the caller was but she was afraid it would be from someone she knew, so she picked up the call.
“Hello, greetings. Who might you be…?”
“Greetings Miss Mont, I’m Lain Heidy, a good friend of…Heaton Fudd.”
…
After half an hour, Verian and Lain were sitting face to face at a coffee shop in a secluded spot.
The waiter came by and politely asked, “What would you both like to drink?”
“I would like an iced Americano. What would you like, Miss Mont?”
Verian originally wanted to order some coffee to wake herself up, but she suddenly recalled she was pregnant so she refused to have coffee. “I’d like a glass of orange juice.”
“Very well, please wait for your drinks to be served.”
Verian made a self-mocking thought after she ordered her orange juice. Since she could not have this child, why did it even matter if she had coffee or not?
Sooner or later, she would have to find some time to abort this child.
Lain, who was sitting in front of her, spoke with a subtle smile after carefully assessing Verian. “Pardon me, Miss Mont, for calling you out so abruptly.”
It was only after Verian arrived at the coffee shop that she finally realized who Lain Heidy actually was.
Was this lady not the female owner of the Blue Bay mansion?
“Miss Heidy, since you’ve called me out, please speak your mind if there’s anything you wish to say to me.”
Was this Lain lady here to assert her dominance?
Lain smiled. “Aren’t you curious about how I’ve come to know you?”
“Didn’t you already say that you’re Heaton’s good friend? The few good friends Heaton has all know who I am and have even given me a nickname.”
