Harry stood there completely unwilling to lower his head. If he was to apologize to a lowly staff, not to mention in front of so many of the company’s people, his pride would be completely shattered and non-existent!
David realized he was not moving an inch, so he frowned and yelled out, “Hurry up and apologize to Madam Fudd!”
Harry gritted his teeth, his expression seeming slightly pale. Just because Verian had the status of being Heaton’s wife, he was forced to bow and apologize to her. He lowered his head while his eyes were focused on the ground. He spoke with a very dissatisfied tone, “I’m sorry Madam Fudd. Last night was my fault.”
Heaton squinted his dark eyes while a dim yet sharp glimmer of danger was hidden behind them. He subtly questioned, “What are you apologizing for? What were you at fault for?”
Harry gritted his teeth while he clenched his fists suspended by his sides. They were clenched extremely tight.
This Heaton Fudd was going too far!
Having a female staff keep a business client company was not a peculiar thing in the business field. Who told Verian to keep her identity hidden while she worked here?
Harry took a deep breath. He was unwilling to admit his faults but was forced to lower his head. “I shouldn’t have made Madam Fudd keep a business client company. I shouldn’t even have pushed Madam Fudd to the Ashier Group’s President Mark. I’m truly sorry, Madam Fudd. Please forgive me…”
Heaton’s brows twitched as he thought about it… The Ashier Group’s President Mark?
The person that took advantage of Verian was a staff member from the Ashier Group?
Heaton took a mental note of it.
Verian felt slightly uncomfortable since Harry was actually her boss and was now humbling himself to apologize to her. As such, the tiny woman gave Heaton’s sleeve a tug, signalling him that it was all good.
It was only after that did Heaton relax. He spoke while pouting his lips, “You should reflect on your actions well to have relied on a female staff to determine if a business deal succeeds or falls though.”
Harry’s face looked bitter but he dared not utter a word.
David immediately nodded in agreement. “Don’t you worry, President Fudd, I’ll discipline him well so please don’t get mad at him. Why don’t I organize something, if you would grant me the pleasure to allow me to treat you and Madam Fudd for dinner?”
“There’s no need.”
Heaton had always been cold, so it was only natural for him not to waste his amazing night on a meaningless dinner. It would feel like such a shame to do so.
“However, my wife’s been working in your company for half a month. From what I heard from Manager Leonard, my wife will not be getting her half month’s worth of pay? Is that so, President Holmes?”
David immediately shivered violently. Heaton’s statement was obviously a threat.
David raised his brows and immediately said, “No way! Madam Fudd has worked in the Prosperity Company for half a month and her pay will be given to her down to the very last penny! I’ll have my finance department send Madam Fudd’s pay here right now!”
David had his assistant inform the finance department to send the money over. Not long after, the pay was sent over by the finance department.
Verian received the envelope and it contained a stack of money.
“Do you want to count the money, Madam Fudd?”
Verian did not think about it much as she nodded. “Sure, I’ll count.”
David was speechless.
Was Heaton short on money? The only thing Heaton never lacked was money!
When Heaton demanded the two thousand bucks from him earlier, he felt odd since Heaton actually came over personally just for two thousand bucks. Heaton’s time was money, every minute exceptionally expensive. By dwelling here with Madam Fudd for hours, how much money would he have lost just for a meager two thousand bucks?!
It was truly peculiar…
When Heaton looked at Verian’s serious look while she counted the money, the corner of his eyes twitched slightly. He hugged her waist with his huge hand before lowering his head next to her ear and softly said, “By doing so, you’ll have other people misunderstand that I don’t usually give you enough money to spend.”
Verian was speechless.
Verian let out a light cough and felt slightly flustered. She did not finish counting as she shoved the money back into the envelope.
She did not want to keep counting since if she did, it would humiliate Heaton.
It took a lot of effort for David to send the majestic Heaton off. While his gaze was fixated on them leaving, he finally let out a long sigh of relief that was pent up inside him.
“Fortunately, Heaton did not dwell on it. This Verian Mont was actually his wife, that is truly unheard of news! It’s also peculiar for Madam Fudd to come all this way to S City from North City!”
Harry felt dissatisfied as he stared at the gradually fading tail end of the Maybach. He said, “President Holmes, as great as that Heaton Fudd is, he doesn’t have the connections you do in S City. What are we afraid of?”
David gave Harry a cold glare and said, “You underestimate Heaton way too much. If he wanted to make a fuss about the issue with you today, just by secretly toying with us, it would be enough to have our company shut its doors!”
